RackBlaster
Ive been shooting feathers on my arrows my whole life and i was debating if i should try out the new style vanes. What advantages have you guys expierenced using vanes over feathers? My only beef with feathers is when they get wet and they crease fairly easy. GWSmith
Re: Feathers vs. vanes I used to use vanes...but ever since I got my own fletching jig I've been experimenting with Feathers. Found the feathers to fly smoother out of my bow's setup. I've been spraying them with a Silicone Spray and thats worked great keeping them waterproof!!! GW Does that affect your arrow flight any?

GWSmith
Re: Feathers vs. vanes [ QUOTE ] ...GW Does that affect your arrow flight any? [/ QUOTE ] Nope...Just let it dry completely before you use them. Then before using run your hands over them. I know this works...sprayed them with the waterhose once and the water beaded like a car polish commercial After the fluid in the spray evaporates the weight thats left behind on the feather is minimal. IMHO it's one of those things where the benefits out-weigh the drawbacks(if any).

Guest Turkeystalker
Re: Feathers vs. vanes I have made the switch from feathers to blszers and I will be switching back to feather because I cannont keep the blazers on my arrows. Feathers are light and don't create as much drag through the wisker bisquit.
Bownarow
Re: Feathers vs. vanes I switched to feathers last year and really liked them. I used some No Snow that was made for WB's on them and that water proofs them pretty well.
