Guest andymansavage
Yesterday my wife was at home with our two young sons ages 2 and 2 mos. She was holding the baby in the kitchen working on something while the 2 year old was playing in the family room . Suddenly she heard the toddler yelling calmly from the front living room "mommy hep (help)" and "owie". He does this all of the time and so she finished what she was doing for a few seconds and then walked slowly to the living room. When she turned the corner she about lost it. My son was balancing on the back (top) of the couch with the cord to the blinds wrapped tightly around his neck, trying not to fall off. She ran to him and un-wrapped the cord, to witch he responded "tent you" and ran off laughing. She called me and was very shaken up. Needles to say we have moved the couch and are putting in cord holders today. Andy

clayman
Re: wife had a scare I know how that feels. You never know what they're going to get themselves into. One time I discovered my son, about 2 1/2 at the time, asleep in his bed with a bunch of pocket knives (about six or seven) OPENED that he had taken off of my dresser. He was completely unscathed, but boy did that shake me up.

Another thing that gets overlooked is those doo-hickeys that attach your furniture ( dressers, entertainment centers etc.,) to the wall. Keeps the kids from climbing on them and pulling them over on top of themselves.
wtnhunt
Re: wife had a scare Man, no doubt that would be scary for sure Andy. Cannot be too safe with things like this with kids. Things can happen in a split second.
