Strut10
.......I think. Just came back from a bench session ith my 7-STW and .375 Wby. I noticed when I started with the .375, I noticed that when the power was turned above about 8.5 (on a 2x10) the scope got blurry. I shot two 5-shot strings. Now it gets blurry at about 6 power. Don't know what's going on. But I've gotta call the manufacturer tomorrow.
AJ
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope Yep, that will do it. Does it have a gold ring?
Strut10
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope Nope. That's one of the reasons I opted to not get a gold-ringed one. Amongst the die-hard big bore crowd, the golden ring hasn't got much of a reputation for survival. Guess the one I have isn't gaining one, either. doubleA
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope Wow, I thought Leupolds had a great reputation on hard kickers. I have seen many a DG gun with gold rings sitting atop of them. Then again my 416 Rigby wears a Swarovski and 375H&H wears a Zeiss...go figure
iron buck
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope The best rep with REALLY big bores....at least on AR.....is the Leupold fixed 2.5x. I have one on my 375. Not a big kicker.....but it works well I am a firm believer in Leupolds. I have them on almost all my rifles. My 338 wears a 2.5-8x VX-III. And it performs flawlessly after several hundred rounds. I just have not seen any POOR indications from any leupold product I own.
Reloader
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope The Gold ring means gauranteed for life...so if it were one..it is fixed...no questions asked... as for Zeis or Swarovski...Ive heard they are great...but I can't afford them so I guess I will never know lol
Guest J_Owens_66
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope Get you a Burris, can't remember which model it is, select i think, but they have a feature called posi-lock, which locks the adjustments in place. It is specifically a dangerous game scope that has PLENTY of eye relief. Burris is a great scope, i own 4 and have never had any trouble out of them, gather lots of light and are tough as nails. Gold rings are good Big Game rifle scopes too, the lower power any way, not many big game scopes are high power. But i wouldn't put anything but the VX-III on your gun. Good luck with you next scope. Guest Xen
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope the zeiss diavari vm/v has been a very impressive scope. i know that i couldn't afford one, but luckily my father can as long as he'll let me borrow his rifle for hunting season, everything will be ok

Strut10
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope Well.......the big brown truck brought my scope this morning!! It was back in my hands 9 business days from the time I shipped it & at least 4 of those days (probably 6) were transit days. The invoice said "defective cam tube". The scope I got back is brand spanking new!! It's not the one I sent them. Back to the bench!!

snapper
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope Did you know the person driving the brown truck?...lol Thats pretty quick turn around...are you putting the new scope on the rifle to test it? Or are you holding out for maybe a better scope?
Strut10
Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope [ QUOTE ] Did you know the person driving the brown truck?...lol [/ QUOTE ] I think I've seen him before. [ QUOTE ] Thats pretty quick turn around...are you putting the new scope on the rifle to test it? Or are you holding out for maybe a better scope? [/ QUOTE ] Putting it right back on to see whether this is really what's gonna go on or if it was a fluke. If the rifle pukes this one..........well.......then me & Weaver's gonna have to come to some kind of agreement, I guess. I'm leaning toward the fluke thing. But, I could be wrong. We'll see.
