1st ever round of trap shooting...

...last night. What a blast (no pun intended)! grin.gif Shot a course with 4 other buddies. 100 targets total I scored a 61. I know, not the best, but I came in second in my group - another guy had a 63.

All in all, we had a ton of fun, the weather was great, and a buffet style dinner afterwords. I can see that sport being just like any other, you could dump a lot of $$$ into it pretty quick! grin.gif

Which I am about to do. crazy.gif

Addictive sport, ain't it?? smile.gif I'd say a 61 for your first time out is pretty darned respectable. I've been shooting since March (except when I was on the 60 day DL) and am not above 78-80 average. Hoping the move up to a 12 ga. and a gun that fits well will improve that.

Congrats on your first outing!! grin.gif

Re: 1st ever round of trap shooting...

Very cool! Congrats on your first step into a while lot of fun. It is addicting, frustrating, and rewarding, all at the same time. You can dump some very big bucks into gold inlaid, exhibition grade, custm guns that cost more tham many houses do, or you can shoot hunting guns. Serious shooters will go with a trap gun at least. One with a parallel comb that has a 70/30 POI and a high rib and you will be on your way to running them. Not that it can't be done with a H&R Pardner but its easier with the right equipment.

So turn your mind off, lock your eyes on the bird, and turn them into soot balls.
