Hey fellas, I had a few general questions about most of the 3D events ya'll shoot in. Can anyone tell me how many shots I can expect to make over the course of one day and how they are set up (How many targets on average, how many shots on each one etc.) I have never entered a 3D tourny so any info would be appreciated.

Re: 3D Archery Tournaments

typically most 3D shoots will be 40 targets. but there are some local events around here that have 28 targets. i have seen a few that are 30 targets and 2 that have 56 targets and one that has 84 shots.

for your area im thinking 40 targets. your living in pretty much ASA country and i will bet they follow ASA rules. so for total amount of shots, if you warm up on the practice bales which is always a good idea should be around 50 or 60 shots. depending on how many you shoot for practice.

good luck and have fun. 3d is very addictive.. let us know how you shot when your done.

Will do Tony and thank you for your answer. I'm going to check with the Archery shop today to see when the next Tournament is and prepare for it. Want to make sure that I can be accurate all day long. Thanks again.

Re: 3D Archery Tournaments

Thanks DG.. will do, I'm competitive by nature but I look at archery definitly as having fun. That's very good advice and that is the outlook I'm going to have, I'm just going to have fun, make friends, and enjoy the day.
