Turkeygirl
I'm looking at the TruFire Hurricane Extreme web release or the Trufire Judge release as a possible new release this year and I was wondering if anyone on here had either of them or any thoughts on them? I have an ultra-nok XL nock that will be on my new bow so I'm trying to decide which release will work best. No shops around here carry either of these releases, but of the Trufire releases I have tried, I like them, so I may have to order a release. Any thoughts? Thanks! NiteRunner
Re: TruFire Releases?? I've heard nothing but good stuff from the TruFire line. I just bought a TruFire X Caliper II the other day. Love it, nice smooth release and short enough for me. I know a Pro shop around me carries the ones you asked about, I think the Hurricane was $30 not sure about the judge.
WvBowhunterKE
Re: TruFire Releases?? yeah i think the hurricane is $30 dollars where i am at too...anyways i only use tru fire now since i got mine.
Tom2008
Re: TruFire Releases?? I have one and love it. The first release I have ever bought and I think it was well worth the money.
LifeNRA
Re: TruFire Releases?? I have a TruFire Hurricane with the power strap. Not sure if they make them anymore with that type of strap. But I like mine very much. I dont like a real sensitive trigger. I also must have the curved trigger. My nephew bought a low end Trufire and now he wants the Hurricane like mine.
Nick
Re: TruFire Releases?? If your using a string loop, I would reccommend a TRU-Ball Loop Master. Thats what I use. Its a little pricey but its never failed me and works awesome.
Turkeygirl
Re: TruFire Releases?? Well I'll be using an aluminum loop for now - Ultra-Nok XL. So for those of you who have used the Hurricane, does it work well on an aluminum loop? Also I've heard that having a head that swivels is helpful and the hurricane doesn't swivel that much, is that a problem?
LifeNRA
Re: TruFire Releases?? Sorry I forgot to mention I use a D-loop, the rope kind!

Turkeygirl
Re: TruFire Releases?? Ok. Well I'm assuming, and could be wrong, but these releases could probably be used just fine on an aluminum loop? Some releases just might work better with the string loops? USAFbowhunter
Re: TruFire Releases?? I have the truFire Judge and I love it. The swivel head helps prevent string torque.
WvBowhunterKE
Re: TruFire Releases?? aluminum loop, well I dont know it depends on the width of the loop and the width of the release head.
VtBowhunter
Re: TruFire Releases?? I use the Team Realtree buckle Hurricane release from TruFire, and you really can't beat it. It's great for any sized hands due to the fact that you can adjust the length of the release's neck to make it easier to use.
Turkeygirl
Re: TruFire Releases?? Thanks for the imput so far. So probably either the hurricane or judge should work fine on my aluminum loop. I'd liek to get the hurricane since it is cheaper than the judge, but does theh ead have any rotation at all, or would I be better off getting something like the judge that has a rotation head? My current release, a Pro Release Troohy hunter, has a head the swivels...
wtnhunt
Re: TruFire Releases?? Shoot a tru fire x caliper, looks about like the release that John has pictured there. Has an adjustable trigger too.
Turkeygirl
Re: TruFire Releases?? Well Walmart last night was totally sold out of their TruFire releases. I really think I'm going to order either the Judge or the Hurricane...I'm just not sure if I should spend the extra money for the Judge since it has a swiveling head, or spend less on the Hurricane...Input? Oh yeah, and any one have any opinions on web vs, the hard plastic connestion between the wrist strap and release head? Before I was going to go for the hurricane with the webbing, but now I might go for either the Judge or a Hurricane with the hard connection. Oh, here is a link to the release I currently have that I want to replace: http://www.prorelease.com/products.aspx?product=th2
mike
Re: TruFire Releases?? i prefer the strap between the wrist and release mainly cause my buddy has the rod type so to speak and it stays stickin out so when tryin to grab the ladder stand or another arrow or something it is always in the way clangin on stuff is what he says. the strap lets it hang down leaving your hand more open.JMHO

Turkeygirl
Re: TruFire Releases?? It does Vt? Is it the Hurricane with the web strap or the hurricane like LifeNRA posted, or just any hurricane? Someone somewhere else said the hurricane head rotates a little. Does it not rotate 360 degrees but does rotate some to help prevent torque? Here is a link tothe Ultr-Nok XL loop I have...do you think the hurricane will fit it fine? The description of the Ultr-Nok says it is made to fit most release aids so I'm assuming it should work. I'm just trying to find out about as much as possible before I order one and I want to save money if possible, but don't want to cheat myself later. Thanks everyone for the help! Turkeygirl
Re: TruFire Releases?? So I was on Basspro's website and it said the hurricane has a head that rotates 360 degrees, so this is correct? If so then I'll probably get this release with the web strap. It shortens up fairly well doesn't it?
USAFbowhunter
Re: TruFire Releases?? I just went on the Tru-Fire website and the hurricane doesn't have the 360 degree head rotation like the judge has http://www.trufire.com/hurricane.html
Turkeygirl
Re: TruFire Releases?? Hmmm...ok....someone though did say the Hurricane does have a little rotation so does anyone have this release to tell me for sure?

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: TruFire Releases?? TruFire makes some awesome releases at a great price, right now I am using a TruFire Stalker and a TruBall Tornado, both are sweet. I will be trying a Jim Fletcher one soon, I like to try different ones and for the money TruFire is hard to beat. Personally, I would use a d-loop rope over the Ultra Nock, no need to worry about screws coming out! Once the loop is on and tied right, never an issue!
