slughunter
yesterday and today I saw strutting toms in a flock with some hens, it was really weird. and they were just strutting but they were running the hens and acting like it was spring. yesterday one of the toms gobbled as well, it was really weird. Is this usuall this time of year? -shane

Exturkinator
Re: strutting toms this late I heard a tom gobble twice about 3 weeks ago, and I've seen about a dozen good sized toms with hens over the last two - three months but have seen no strutting... Strut10
Re: strutting toms this late It's not common in September. But it's not unheard of, either. Sure is neat to see any time of the year. But especially when you aren't expecting it.
Guest luckyman4
Re: strutting toms this late [ QUOTE ] I have seen toms all over this past week strutting. Very weird! [/ QUOTE ] Have you noticed all of the SMALL poults this year, too. . . maybe the rainy spring caused alot of lost clutches, the breeding season was super late, and now the Toms aren't sure its over??? kooter
Re: strutting toms this late a few years ago i was walking to my stand in October and had 3 toms in full strut in the middle of a cut corn field. I tried to put the sneak on them but didn't work out. Never seen one strutting this late since.
