AJ
Re: 7mm-08 Dude, Ever heard of punctuation? WOW! They are a .280 caliber cartridge. They are basically a 308 Winchester necked down to hold 7mm bullets. It is a decent light recoiling cartridge that will take anything in this country. There are flatter shooting cartridges, and there are lighter recoiling cartidges. The 7-08 is a good in the middle round. Another one is the .260 remington. It is a 6.5mm-308. It shots slightly lighter bullets and is also very effective on game. Both of these are fairly easy to use out to 300 yards.
OUTSIDER
Re: 7mm-08 I had one in a model 7 Remington...i am going to put that particulair rifle in the moderate kicking category, if you dont take hold of it you will get a nice scar between your eyes. Its a perfect deer rifle.
rifleman25
Re: 7mm-08 Can't go wrong with a 7mm-08. They are a fine round and the 140 gr bullets they like are bad medicine on whitetails.

7th
Re: 7mm-08 I got one for my wife and have used it a few times my self. The 120s are great on the deer we have shot.
robk
Re: 7mm-08 i shoot a 308 and have never shot a 7mm-08 so i couldn't tell you how it shoots myself. the 308 is a nice gun shoots very accurately and i have gone and bought other guns but my 308 is the one i am most confident in when it comes to bigger game. i have been able to shoot 150 grain ballistic tips and some accubonds and both were reloaded with the same powder charge and one shot just a little higher than the other. both will do what i need it to do and i bet the 7mm-08 will do the same and there are a lot of people who love the 08 guns rob k
