RangerClay
Now that Lightfield is making 16 ga. saboted slugs, I would like to get a rifled barrel. Remington never made a 16 ga. slug barrel for my 1100. Does anyone make a 16 ga. rifled slug barrel for a Remington 1100?
AJ
Re: Looking for a 16 ga. barrel Well, nobody is making a rifled 16 ga barrel that I am aware of. The Commander IDS slugs that Lightfield offer are designed to be shot in smoothbore guns. It is similar to the Brenneke Rottweil slugs. It is like the traditional sabot slug as the sabot portion of the slug will stay with the slug as it travels downrange. It acts like the badminton shuttlecock. The wad/sabot will keep the slug stable in flight. It still does not have the range of the lighter sabots.
RangerClay
Re: Looking for a 16 ga. barrel Thanks AJ! I didn't check out the ballistics of the Lightfield slugs, I just assumed. I still wish I could get more range out of my 16. I shoot Brenneke slugs out of it now with deadly accuracy but I wanted a little more accuracy without buying a new gun.
