Re: head weight ?

it doesn't make that much difference with my bow until you get out to about 40 yards, then you see it start to fall a little more. I found some 2219 alum. arrows i used to shoot the other day and put some 125 grain heads on them and shot my 3-d deer with them. I had to use my 30 yard pin to get them to hit dead on at 20 but they weigh a good bit more than my gold tips do.

Re: head weight ?

If you're border line in the spine category, then switching from a 100 grain head to a 125 grain head will make a HUGE difference. Heavier heads weaken the spine of your arrow which will cause eratic arrow flight. Switching from 125 to 100 shouldn't bee an issue as far as spine is concerned though because that will stiffen your spine, so you should be o.k. .

As far as speed goes, you'll gain roughly 5 fps by dropping the 25 grains, but that "shouldn't" require any major changes in your set up. I can swap out my 125's and put on 100 grain heads right now and they'll hit within a 1/2" or so of each other.
