Life Member of NRA and Mad as ****

Every charity organization does the same thing. I get stuff all the time from a few different ones.

I know how you feel, because it kind of turns folks off who have a very limited income and have given from the heart, only to be hounded for more and more.

I have come to realize now though, that they all do it. They don't know me from adam and they have no idea of my financial status. They are hoping though, that if I was indeed rich, that I would help out more.

The other reason you and I and everyone else who gives to any charitable organizations, is that their mailings techniques are very impersonal and all automated. Once you give, your name just goes on a list of givers and you reacieve all the mail they have to offer.

It doesn't even bother me any more.

If I can only afford to give so much a month to an organization that I believe in, that is what I will give and just turf the rest of the mail I get from them.

Gotta watch you don't turf your tax exemption by mistake though. grin.gif

That's the way I look at it.

Try calling them up and express your feelings! I had some problems a few years ago that I had to change my phone number, made it unlisted. The NRA dont call me anymore because they dont have my new number! LOL, funny thing though, I dont even get that much mail from them either! I still get a letter once in a while, but not like I used to! As my nic states, I am also a LIFE member, I still throw them a yearly contribution(sp?). So just throw it away, is all I could tell you to do!

BTW! Welcome to the forums!!! grin.gif

Re: Life Member of NRA and Mad as ****

I've been a life member since '93. Yes, I do get quite a bit of mail soliciting donations, but those I can always toss if I'm not able to donate at that particular time. But I've never, ever had a phone call from them asking for donations or anything else.

And like it or not, the NRA is our most effective voice when it comes to defending the Second Amendment and hunter's rights.

If the anti's are coming to your town trying to stop your favorite season, the NRA will be there for you. Will YOU be there for them?
