Keller Sight

Anyone here use a pendelum sight? I just got a new bow, which came with a fiber optic sight, which is what I have used in the past, but one of my friends has been talking about his Keller and says he likes it better than the fiber optics because it takes all the guesswork out of shooting. Im a bit worried about buying one because of the cost (like $50), but if you guys think its worth it, I may try it. I'm also considering shooting his bow to see how I like it.

Re: Keller Sight

even though i havent shot a Keller sight i have heard that they are a quality sight... but they are tricky to set up... what they do is correct for your shooting form flaw while shooting out of a tree stand..

because so many guys dont use proper shooting form out of a tree stand they find a need to use a sight that corrects for this.. however the sight does work..

but for me i would rather use proper shooting form and a regular pin sight.. in case you didnt know heres what happens when you shoot from a treestand...

when you shoot on level ground your shooting form is correct ....you stand straight up and the sight is on the target.. but when in a stand most guys forget this and draw there bow and then lower the sight onto the deer or whatever they are shooting at ..this is wrong.

this changes your shooting form .. just stand on level ground and then hold your imaginary bow out like you were shooting it... then lower the sight like your were in a stand aiming at a deer.. see how the anchor is the same but your form has changed ?

so to correct this you just bend slightly at the waist to put the pin on the deer. what you want to do is keep the upper part of your body the same like on level ground...by bending at the waist you keep your upper body the same and now can aim deadon like on level ground from a treestand...

i use the bending at my waist while shooting 3 d tournys also.. i just make sure i bend at the waist for uphill or downhill shots...

bottom line is that you can buy the sight and it will correct for your shooting form ..but for my money i would rather use proper shooting form , it will benifit you in the long run.....

Re: Keller Sight

if you have great eye sight and want ot deal with noise and this is form my expierence then that is the way to go and i tried a couple of the models that were supposed tob e quieter and they weren't quiet at all. for me it was a bust as i am also into simple hunting and the cobra pendelum turned out tobe the one i used but then i went tot he sidewinder lx which is a 5 pin sight but if was to use a pendelum again ti would be a cobra just check them out at www.cobraarchery.com and you will see that they are an easy set u p and tune and are very quiet

i have used a keller for years and love them, takes all the guess work out, they work great on level ground or from a stand. Get it you won't regret it.

If you want to shoot a Pendulum, don't go with keller sight. They WILL vibrate after time, if they would fix that issue (they say they did with soft mount, but it didn't) Switch the bead to a fiber, instead of paint, would be a great sight!

I have bought two of them in my time and had same problems. I made one so it wouldn't vibrate, took me 4 hours and my die file to make it just right on the nylon screws. Thats where it vibrates at. One little smack and it's loose again.

I'm shooting a Predator iv pendulum. It is the quietest pendulum i have ever shot and is very bright. You can have a ton of vibration on your bow, it will still be quiet.

I have heard the trophy ridge pend. are loud too. The only two pendulum i heard are good, no vibration, shoot 0-30/35 yds are Predator and camel back ( i haven't tried camel back yet, i have them coming in)

I was told that trophy ridge redesigned them so they would vibrate, but the other two are cheaper and do same thing. If any other ?'s PM me or where to located one.

Re: Keller Sight

Wow. I'm just the oposite. I bought the Predator IV first, but couldn't get the light to brighten the pins in low light. Filed the cup a bit, but it still wasn't the way I like to see the pins in low light. It now sits on my shelf.

The Keller 2000 has been very good to me. I love it and haven't experienced any problems with it.

Re: Keller Sight

Not sure! The fibers on them now are very bright, for very very low light, like you can see deer, but can't tell if its a button buck or doe. I drill a hole in side of cup, run the fiber underneath it, put it in the hole and put a piece of electrical tape over it. Only lights up the fiber, instead of big blow. For some reason you get a little vibration, it's probably your batteries. Take out 3 screws and put a oring in the top.

When people usually miss with sight, means they didn't sight it in right or its them. Usually they sight it in on the ground and go hunting

Well, they missed a step, lol. You need to shoot elevated to do last adjustment, 15ft is good. This adjustment is moving your pin in and out.

ex: i sighted mine in on ground 20 yds, went to tree and shot, was hitting low, I had to move the pin in.

if your hitting high, move pin out.

Re: Keller Sight

i had a keller a couple of years ago and will not buy another one. they vibrate way to much!! if i'm going to pay 70 - 80 bucks for a sight it better not make any noise. i have a savage pedulum now and i love it. no vibration at all. dead on at 20 yds. and i won't shoot anything outside of 30yds so that is perfect for me!
