slugshooter
I was thinking of buying a scope for my NEF Sidekick and was thinking of getting this one in the 2-7 x 32 power in Realtree Hardwoods. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa...d&cmCat=EOF I know it's marketed as a shotgun scope, but I figure if it can withstand shotgun recoil, it can withstand ML recoil. Guest Bushpilot
Re: Good scope for a muzzleloader? I just got the realtrea hardwood camo Pro Staff 3-9x40 without all that drop compensation stuff. I didn't want all that business in my sight view. I also wanted the 40mm. Nikon is Sweet though! too_pointer
Re: Good scope for a muzzleloader? slugshooter, I have that same Nikon on my .22, and really like it, it would be fine on your muzzleloader. The next one up the line for Nikon is the buckmaster, and I have 3 of them. They are around $50 more I believe and you should check them out. They are worth it if you can pay the extra too_
jdickey
Re: Good scope for a muzzleloader? Nikon is currently marketing their BDC scopes for muzzleloaders, but it is also available under the BUCKMASTERS series. Using the BDC scopes may take some adjusting in your shooting patterns depending on what distance you sight in the scope/gun. It will take you a little practice in order to shoot the longer distances and at different focal power. Got to look thru these scopes at the store (Academy) where I work. We got both models in last week..... optics were very clear....interesting set up..... and will be curious to hear how they perform! In the Buckmasters series..the 4.5x14-40 has the side focus, where as the 3x9-40 does not.
