I really like Cabela's clothing, the quality is great and if you ever have problems their customer service is very helpful. Good luck. mrswtnhunt
Guest crisi13
Re: Camo question www.highmaintenancecamo.com I haven't ordered from there yet, but their stuff looks pretty good and the prices aren't that bad!
BowtechsWife
Re: Camo question Mossyhorn - I would have to agree with the Cabelas suggestion. They tend to have the widest variety. While we are on the subject...I am looking at getting some hunting gear for this winter. I tend to freeze when out early mornings in IOWA. I have tried the numerous layer thing and I feel like a big marshmellow that can't walk. I would love to hear how other women stay warm during the winter. Guest 04bowgirl
Re: Camo question Yeah I wish we had a cabelas where I live, I had to go to Academy and ended up with kids camo which fit just as well but.....it sucks them having rows and rows of mens and kids camo, but the womens section was little to nothing, mostly t-shirts that were pink with camo writing on them, which isn't going to help me in the tree!!! But I make due lol...and maybe I will be able to drive to austin, tx (the nearest cabelas to me) soon and go to the new cabelas!
NiteRunner
Re: Camo question Most of my Camo is Boys XL, or a Mens Medium, but it's a little big. I know Scent-Lok introduced a new womens line, you can try checking that out.
Turkeygirl
Re: Camo question Bowtechs Wife - get some of those hand warmer things that you open, shake, and they heat up. That's what I use when I get cold, especially me feet. I'll open a few and stick some in my boots, and in my pockets. The best way I found is to stick them in your pockets closest to your hip bone because you have a big artery running through your leg - the femoral artery - and that "warms your blood and will make your feet warmer. I know, it works! Camo wise - I just buy either large youth sizes or small or medium men sizes - and usually when something is on sale to. [/ QUOTE ] I know it is much colder in Iowa than it is here, but bought the wife some good dual layer thermals that are supposed to wick away moisture fromthe body and a cabelas super slam thinsulated 3 in 1 parka. Only complaint she has had with getting cold was her feet. She has since gotten new boots, but with the mild winter we had last year, she never really got to see if they helped. Guest Oneida1
Re: Camo question I have been having a hard time buying camo. But I found that Cabelas had Camo Rubber boots with Thinsulate in women's sizes. They fit great. Then I found a great camo bomber jacket. It;s waterproof, windproof and insulated at of all places Walmart. It is a youth size 2XL. $39. My biggest problem is that I'm tall and skinny. Many of the small women's sizes are too short in the length. and the medium fall off my backside. But I have found camo pants and shirts at BassPro Shops, Cabelas, and Dick's sporting goods. The youth sizes tend to have a longer inseam on the pants. It seems that we just have to try it on!!! Oneida1

[/ QUOTE ] You gotta have heavily insulated boots ( mine are Columbia) and 2 or 3 pairs of wool socks over a pair of cotton ones, and a very good pair of gloves. As ong as my hands and feet are warm, the rest of me usually is too. I have a pair of insulated bibs and a matching jacket that I wear. I also wear the orange toboggan/face mask too. We don't have to deal with the snow like you guys, but it has gotten below freezing on many mornings.

Bought the wife a pair of lacrosse thinsulate boots her feet were getting cold still, so bought some boot blankets. With the boot blankets her feet do not get cold. Last winter cabelas had a sale on womens and kids thinsulated rubber boots, so I bought her and my oldest daughter a pair of 800 gram thinsulated rubber boots, she has not got to use them for hunting yet, but bet her feet stay pretty warm with them.
