Re: Hunting Season

Hello again I just found out that my child can get 3 buck tags this year in my neck of the woods. Last year he got 2 bucks tags and filled them then he wanted to go and get a doe. But I had not got my fill yet and we finely came to an agreement that I could go hunting and he would run the video camea. But with the extra tag this year I think it will be a little harder yet for me to get out. Dont get me wrong that is the stuff I live for!!! The look on his face when he harvests something in the field there is nothing like it in the world!! I guess that mom will have to wait a little longer. But.....

Re: Hunting Season

When the weather starts to finally cool down here, I will get the "bug". It just hasn't hit yet. I AM looking forward to this season though. Last year we were inundated with hurricanes and storms that kept the deer activity pretty low-key. This year's weather has been fine. So the deer ought to be plentiful!!!

Good luck ladies!!!

Re: Hunting Season

I am super excited!!! This will be my very first season!! And my very first season bowhunting at that! Hunting is all I do right now, I eat and sleep it! That and the weather in South Texas this year is looking up...we have been having lots of rain the last few days, and its cooling off fairly early!! So maybe we won't have to fight too much with the high temps, and drought that the hill country has had this year. I went to the Sabinal River a couple weeks ago and it was barley flowing. Hopefully the little rain we have had will help that!

Re: Hunting Season

Well we went to scout this weekend and start setting our stands, but we drove 4 hours to where some of our land is, for it to be raining chickens!! So bad we couldn't even get past the river to get to our land, so we had to turn around at 3:30 a.m. and drive 4 hours back home!!! Oh well next weekend I guess~ Took a nice long nap this morn!! lol

Re: Hunting Season

I have been busy as a bee. Went bear hunting in Minnesota and have been goose hunting 3-4 days a week here in South Dakota. Our waterfowl season opens this Saturday. Our archery season just opened for deer and I have my eyes on a few bucks. So much to hunt, not enough time!

Good luck to all. Hope you all have a safe and successful season.

Re: Hunting Season

Hay ladies my son put the smack down on a little 10 point non-typical last night. His dad took him so I did not get to watch it unfold. But I got the hole story and he is pumped. What a rush!!!!
