Guest Racksnbeards
Wal-Mart is doing away with lay-away. I didn't use it but the wife sure did, especially around Christmas, which it was handy. I don't know if it is a blessing or a disaster. Now she will either not buy it, or buy it. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Wal-Mart wow, never used it but surprised they would do away with it.... seems like a good marketing tool to get customers in and if they didn't have the cash at that time they could have it in weeks. BowtechsWife
Re: Wal-Mart I was a Christmas Layaway shopper. You could get great buys after Thanksgiving...put them on layaway and have them store the items until you had room to store or time to wrap. I got to say...This is just another thing pulling me away from shopping at WalMart.

muggs
Re: Wal-Mart Is there a Wal-Mart credit card? I bet this is related. Why let someone put something on lay-away when you can just have them charge it with their new Wal-Mart credit account at a 22% APR?

Which I am sure that is why they are getting rid of their layaway. I have no clue with the interest rate is but Im sure they will make a ton more money off the Credit Card vs their law away fees. BowJoe
Re: Wal-Mart 20% interest and this sucks. I used it occasionally on high priced items such as our 52" tv and christmas. Sad to see it go.
