OUTSIDER
I want an HONEST answer. How many of you guys and girls practice with your bow through out the season??? I am guilty of not shooting as much as i should but i still shoot atleast 3 days a week. And i ALWAYS shoot three times before i go huntin, often it is by the light of my headlights shooting my block. Just wondering....

magnatecsteve
Re: Practiceing IN SEASON>>>> A few times a week just to check everything out. I do alot of drawing on stand, keeping the muscles warmed up, checking shooting lanes.
mossyhorn
Re: Practiceing IN SEASON>>>> I will shoot the night before a hunt. And if I ride a four wheeler I will shoot when I get back so I can make sure my sights didnt get knocked. Also if i miss a deer when I get back home/camp I will shoot and shoot and shoot, just to make sure it was me and not the bow.

unioncountyslayer
Re: Practiceing IN SEASON>>>> Don't practice that much during the season. Any extra time I have during the season is spent on stand. For me, it's kind of like sighting in a rifle. With a bow, once you're on, you're on. Don't get me wrong, I do shoot a good bit in the off season, just to stay fresh, but I do it more for enjoyment rather than being on target. sskybnd
Re: Practiceing IN SEASON>>>> we take a target to camp with us, to partace with, to me its good to loosen up on them cold morning, ive been so cold and stiff that i almost couldnt draw my bow when the time came. wtnhunt
Re: Practiceing IN SEASON>>>> Usually 2-3 afternoons a week during the archery season. Have to admit I do usually slack off when the firearms seasons open though.

Bowhntr
Re: Practiceing IN SEASON>>>> I try to shoot everyday that I am not working or in the woods. I always take my target with me on out of state trips to shoot some while I'm away from home too.
Rhino
Re: Practiceing IN SEASON>>>> Yep shoot throughout the season. I'm an early riser anyway so after a cup of coffee or 2 in the morning I'll shoot in my back yard as soon as there's enough light depending on the weather. We also have a range set up at our camp too. Just go out on the back porch and fling some between hunts.
vagobbln
Re: Practiceing IN SEASON>>>> I shoot most every day throughout the season. Just lets me know I haven't knocked anything out of kilter going though the woods and up and down trees. I usually keep a practice arrow in my quiver to shoot out of my stand at a leaf (or whatever) before I come down for lunch.
