Guest Finn
Man, I haven't shot open sights in years. Casey and I went to shoot the Omega today at a range. First time with a bench from 100 yards with 250 grain shockwaves and 2 pellets of American Pioneer Powder. Here's the target: My group are the 3 to the right and the one just above those. I move the sight to the left, correct? How much do you recommend I move it? Sorry, I really can't remember the last time I sighted in with iron sights. too_pointer
Re: Not a fan of open sights Finn, did you clean the barrel in between shots at all with that powder, and if you did, was it pretty clean ? I also wonder how hard was it to get the shockwave down after shooting ? I haven't shot any open sights on a rifle since I was 15 or so LOL. Now my eyes are too bad to do it too_
Guest Finn
Re: Not a fan of open sights Too_ , we'd shoot 2, then wet then dry patch. It came out cleaner than the 777 did. (remember, I've now only shot a total of 12 shots, so pretty green to this ml shooting ) The shockwaves went down easier before I'd clean the barrel. Yeah, my eyes aren't 18 anymore, either. There's some kind of scope in my future.

WABS
Re: Not a fan of open sights I have to shoot open sights during the MN muzzle loader season. So every year I go out and put in the range time to tighten up the groups out to 100 yards. I ALWAYS start at 25 and then 50 to ensure I have tight groups there before putting the target out at 100. The key is PRACTICE!! Don't expect tight groups if you've just started. I'll put somewhere between 20 and 40 rounds down range just to get things tightened back up - and I've been doing this for over 20 years. Guest Finn
Re: Not a fan of open sights Thanks, WABS. The range we shoot at only had 1 50 yard target and someone was on it. I plan to shoot there next time.
