wtnhunt
Painted a stick ladder after welding it together yesterday, and was kind of wondering how long I should let it sit out here in the yard before putting it out where I plan to hunt. Season here opens next weekend, and got plenty of other places to hunt. Got a good spot picked for it, just dont want to put it out with an offensive or different odor too quick. Think a week would be long enough for the fresh paint odor to fade or should I wait longer? Any ideas anyone?
Swamphunter
Re: Paint-how long I would say a week outside would get the most of it. What other options do you have really anyways with the opener a week away?

LETMGROW
Re: Paint-how long I'd put it out now. Let it air. The deer will get used to it if you don't hang around it.
Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Paint-how long Put it out!!! It does depend on the paint as to how fsat the scent will disappear.
VTbowman
Re: Paint-how long It only takes 24 to 36 hours for spray paint to out gas and cure 100%. Depending on how thick your layers are that is... I go out and have done touch up paint on mine while they are still hanging. LOL Never noticed it bother deer... buckee
Re: Paint-how long I'd give it just a couple of days and go ahead and stick it out there. It might attract a bit of unwanted attention for a while, but the deer will get used to it being there, as the scent slowly fades away. Go for it
