wtnhunt
tore up my plots. Our neighbors horses got out in my back field where the fence has been down. Didnt think they could get through the woods to get to my field, but the fence must be down from his pasture somewhere up in the front near the woods. Dont know how long they were back there, but they left lots of evidence in the field in the recently cut clover plots and then they trampled through the trails of fresh growing rye and wheat and on into my 5 day old winter mix plot. they went through our 2 and a half week old winter plot and somewhere along the way stopped at our mineral site to leave me with some pics. Got a dozen pics of them here at the trophy rock. Sure do hope the plots recover where they trampled the new growth. Did get pics of deer and turkeys at the minerals following the horses being in there, so dont think they disturbed them. Patched the fence up a bit too so hopefully the horses dont make their way back. Should I try to sew some seed in where they dragged their feet through and trampled the pants or will the brassicas and turnips spread their way back in and fill in these spots. dogdoc
Re: Blasted clumsy big hoofed tresspassers welcome to my world. I've had the neighbors cows get in and trample the plots, neighbors hogs, and neighbors sheep. My plots recovered just fine except for the hogs. todd

[/ QUOTE ] Season here opens this Saturday. Hopefully patching the spot in the fence I found yesterday will stop them. Not at all upset with the neighbor on this, he really is a good old guy. Will have to help him out with the fence finding any loose spots and patching them in the front this weekend when I am not out hunting, just hate they went pretty well through everywhere I hunt including my two newest plots. Ravin R10 man
Re: Blasted clumsy big hoofed tresspassers William,..... I hear they taste great!!!..LOL, the plots should recover if thew ground was not too wet, and if the horses leave really deep imprints.. wtnhunt
Re: Blasted clumsy big hoofed tresspassers Ground was not too terribly wet Martin, but think maybe all five of his horses may possibly have went through both of the new plots. Have had a lot of rain today, thought about hand sewing in the spots where they trampled through but didnt. Hopefully the spots where they trampled through will recover ok. Will have to get some more pics of the plots later this week, after all the rain we have had today they should put on some good growth.
