I have been looking at summit but dont know there quality

[/ QUOTE ]

In my opinion, Summit, and quality are synonomous with each other, I have a Broadhead Backpacker and I absolutely love it. It is solid, comfortable and easy to use. I plan on buying a few summit hang on stands for next year. Summit stands also come with the Seat-O-The-Pants safety harness, which is also in my opinion as good as it gets.

I've got the Summit Cobra. Great stand.

Anyone tried the newer Loggy Bayou climbers? They look pretty sweet. I like the way the cable connects.

Yeah..I just bought the Loggy Illusion GRS this year...Its very comfortable and hooks up fast and silent....Keystone country store sells it for 199.95 and that includes the gun and foot rest..

Re: climbers

Viper has the perminant bar around the front. The older Cobra had no bar. The new Cobra has the drop down bar that swings up over your head.

I own the Cobra and my buddy owns the Viper. I personally think it is faster climbing with the Cobra. I don't like having to sit on the bar to pull up the bottom section. Your range of movement is too limited.

The bar on the Viper does give you a sense of security once up in the tree that the Cobra does not have.

Where are the Ol'e Man fans??

I have a Grand Ol'e Man climber. It's quiet, fast and stable as all heck. It does weigh 25 lbs so it is not a superlightweight but for a stand that holds 400 lbs...

I've literally been up in 150+ times and never questioned it once about quality or safety. It cost me used....(it must have been set up inside) $150....A sure deal from a forum member it was.

A new one costs close to $200

[/ QUOTE ] I have a old model Ol' Man Grand Vision also, it's been a great stand and I was thinking about getting another one but they went to the light weight material and all the recall stuff I opted for the Summit....I still use the Ol' Man when I leave a stand in tough to get to areas and use pad locks instead of the pins in hopes it keeps thiefs from taking it in case they find it....it's been a good one Ol' Man needs to go back to making them in the 400 lb capacity model Grand Vision.

Re: climbers

I have an ol-man multivision and posted up top. I was wondering the same thing about the ol-man owners. I have both and like both but the ol-man is more quiet than any summit and it packs easier. The summit is more comfortable and fairly quiet. These two are the best out there in my opinion. two cents
