gowest
I understand that Gold Tip has moved their manufacturing out of the US and that the current quality isn't what it used to be - can anyone verify or give some insight on the current on game performance? Thanks. I'm just looking for some feedback before investing $100 - thanks. John
preacherman
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing was at a bow shop in Mississippi today and the tech told me that they moved their manufacturing to Mexico and it has went belly up..........don't know if this is true.........this is just what he said........ ScottyLuck
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing They moved to Mexico. They are still in buisness. The quality is still the same.
tedicast
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing The last couple dozen XT Hunters we got were terrible. We spin test all our shafts, before cutting. We pick the best, abd use then as broadhead arrows. The last dozen, there were 3 arrows that spun straight. That is pathetic. No more GT's for me, and I swore by them. Shooting Carbon Express now, what a difference in quality. Unfortunately. also a difference in price. Guess you get what you pay for. gowest
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing I understand the ones marked: "Made in the USA" - are okay - while those not bearing any source were made in Mexico. The early feedback has not been positive - I'm thinking about switching to the Carbon Express Maxima's - however the tolerance and gpi were what attracted me to the Gold Tips in the first place. Tony
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing heres a post by one of goldtip top shooters and reps Tim Gillingham. Gold Tip arrow Production/Sales -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, for all of our loyal Gold Tip shooters and all of the bashers who have whatever motive they might have, there is a lot of disinformation her that needs to be explained. There is a letter on the website explaining the challenges this year and they primarily come from high demand for a great product. We understand that doesn't make everyone happy and we hope you will be patient with us as we deal with immense volumes of shafts. Production is at it's highest level since the history of Gold Tip as is demand. We are dealing with the problems and part of that was the reason for moving to Mexico for the shaft rolling portion of the process. We outgrew our current facilities ability to keep up with demand and did a very good job last year of meeting the demand even though we were projecting a large shortfall. All of the components and materials are US made with the majority coming right out of UTAH. All QC is done in UT along with all of the fletching, weighing, and assembly. This was done in order to meet demand and keep a reasonably priced product for our consumers while taking big increases in carbon costs and excise tax costs, not for greed. Hope you all enjoy your hunting season, sorry for any delays. Changes made, are intended to increase our ability to produce a bigger volume of quality shafts for years to come for both Goldtip and Blackhawk arrow companies. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i have been extremely happy with all my Goldtips i shoot. also every other person around here is really happy also, except you have to wait to get pro series arrows.i will continue to shoot Goldtip for everything i do and will continue to support them. Tony
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR GOLDTIP CUSTOMERS Gold Tip and Blackhawk wish to thank our customers for their loyalty and their willingness to seek out quality. For that loyalty, Gold Tip and Blackhawk have endeavored to produce products of the highest quality at a fair price. This has been a winning combination for our companies and, as a result, our businesses have grown dramatically. In order for us to meet the increasing need to continue to supply an expanding worldwide customer base, we have had to make dramatic changes relative to our production capabilities. Not only have we seen exponential growth in the domestic marketplace but also huge growth in our international business as well. To service this growth we have been compelled to upgrade our manufacturing capability. Although we are producing at record levels, it became necessary for us to move into another manufacturing facility because sales have surpassed productions’ ability to keep pace. This move will enable us to better meet the unprecedented increase in growth we are experiencing and stabilize our manufacturing capabilities. With these changes we will be better able to serve our entire customer base in a timelier manner while still being able to keep our high standards for quality products. As is always the case in any expansion some disruption of product flow has occurred. We continue to ship product daily and are literally working on a 24 hour schedule. Our production routine includes two 12 hour shifts a day to facilitate our focus to satisfy our loyal customer’s needs. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working even harder to provide our customers with the products they desire. We are doing everything possible to maintain our shipping obligations and keep product interruptions to a minimum. In fact, by mid-October we should be back to regular shipping schedules and anticipate no shipping problems going forward. Neither Gold Tip, Blackhawk nor VaneTec have succumbed to the industry-wide rumors telling of our demise in various forms. In fact, the truth is quite the opposite in that we are experiencing exponential growth much to the dissatisfaction of our competitors. For the foreseeable future this change to our manufacturing capability will prove beneficial to our customers by enabling us to better supply the increasing demand for our products. As you are aware we have been in an expansion mode for several years with the acquisition of Blackhawk Archery and Vanetec and will aggressively seek to expand with further acquisitions in the future. In addition, we have been able to secure enough carbon fiber to fuel our expansion and product needs for the very optimistic future. We continue to accomplish our goals relative to production and expansion and are working hard to keep the Gold Tip standard of quality. Thank you again for your patience and understanding and for growing with us into the future. preacherman
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing [ QUOTE ] for those of you that wont buy Goldtips, quit bashing them and spreading rumors you only make yourself look foolish. Shoot Strong Tony [/ QUOTE ] Guess this one may have been aimed at me.......and sorry if I quoted "misinformation" about Goldtip, I guess I didn't mean to make myself look "foolish" by sharing what was conveyed to me by a shop that buys and sells the fire out of Goldtips..........they shoot them, I don't.........and they were the one's disappointed in the move Goldtip made. I don't shoot Gold Tip, never have. Don't have anything against them and was not bashing them in my post, nor have I read any bashing in this thread. I am glad they are not "belly up"; I was just simply responding to a question that was asked. Sorry For The Misunderstanding, Scott
OUTSIDER
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing I think when products get moved out of the US to third world countries, quality goes down. Bottom line

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing last time I looked aren't Carbon Express arrows "Made in Korea" at least that what is says on the shafts I had in the past. I shoot Eastons, "Made in the USA" right on the shaft. Thanks for the Gold Tip info Tony!
tedicast
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing Yes.. they are made in Korea Lou. I know this won't be a popular thought here, but in all honesty, I don't care where a product is made, I'm looking at the quality of the product. Easton makes a good product, I won't disagree with you, but I looked at a bunch of different arrows, and the the CE's ended up being the best choice for me. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing I try to support companies made in the USA and most companies are. I try to really support Michigan companies as we have some great ones here, G5, Bohning, Kwikee, and even Ameristep, Eastman Outfitters but those companies outsource alot from overseas. I think my Ameristep blind was made in the Phillipines.
MrWiggely
Re: Gold Tip Manufacturing I have shot gold tip for about 5 years and like them very much. The arrows I got this year shoot just as well as the arrows I got last year. The only problem now is the price has gone up a bunch!
