PAbowhunter4life
They POUNDED the ever loving crap out of the Steelers. They out physicaled them, out played them, stepped up and made the big plays when they had to. In short, they KICKER OUR #$%

colts1888
Re: Hat Off To The Jags......... Ben looked rusty, reminded me of the Colts/Steelers game last year on MNF when he came back from injury and the Colts manhandled them like the Jags did. Very simliar results, the Steelers didnt run the ball at all in both games and the passing game struggled. I know the Jags are a tough defensive team, but i dont think they are THAT good. That being said, it sets up a HUGE ealry season divisonal game next week versus Indy. I had planned on Jacksonville coming in with one loss, but now both teams are 2-0 and the winner will take the lead in the division and hold the tiebreaker. Not a good week for the Colts to be banged up. Mark my words though, you will hear so much trash talking from the Jag players this week about the Colts, that you would assume the Jags win the AFC south every year. They talk more trash on the week of the Colts game then anyone i can ever remember. Im sure it's already started tonight in there lockeroom and i'll read about it in tomorrows papers. Mike Peterson is usually the ring leader, he is still bitter about not being resigned by the Colts several years ago.
007hunter
Re: Hat Off To The Jags......... Bottom line, Ben should have never played. I don't care if he said that he was healthy enough. He didn't have near enough time to get ready considering he that in preseason he took 37 snaps total and he had his appendix removed 15 days ago, well 16 now.....Batch should have started..... Hillbilly
Re: Hat Off To The Jags......... Jags might be the team to watch out for. With Jimmy Smith gone the ball will be thrown all over the place.

I think its still good Ben played, he's got to shake the rust of sometime and it was better to do it last night rather then next week against Cincy. Also, I think Batch would of absolutely gotten pounded. I lost count of how many sacks Ben got out of last night, Batch would of been sacked 7 or 8 times. Guest Andrea
Re: Hat Off To The Jags......... This is a JOYOUS OCCASION fellas. Ben shouldn't have played. Plain and simple. Don't know if anyone noticed, but it almost looked as if some of the Jags were afraid to hit him hard. ( Except for that ONE time.....when Ben doubled over afterwards! ) Hopefully people will NOW realize what a good team Jacksonville has. Sure, we didn't put a lot of points on the board.......but then again......look who we were playing.

Oh and who was his backup in St Louis ... Steve [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I checked his stats. Last year he completed 65% of his passes, had over 2700 yards, and 11 TD's in 10 games. In 2 games this year he has 550 yards and 4 TD's. BTW--Kurt Warner is also 35 years old, not 24. Anyways, the argument is over Ben being a has been and it's pretty hard to label him that after the first freaking game he has played this season. He'll be fine. dogdoc
Re: Hat Off To The Jags......... Ben had an off day--guys remember he just has abdominal surgery 2 weeks ago. He also was battling the flu and yesterday morning had a fever of 104 degrees. I'd like to see you guys go out and play at your best with a fever of 104!!!! BTW--Kurt is playing some pretty good ball right now! todd

VtBowhunter
Re: Hat Off To The Jags......... Ben was still suffering the effects of the surgery and a temp of 104......you could tell he was struggling with the throws. The Jags played a good game, but they weren't all that great offensively either. It was a total defensive game. Oh yeah......Chrud, how are the Packers doing? I find it very funny how you Pitt fans are so quick to get excuses to why Ben didn't look so good. But when we (myself and Finn) give reasons why Favre had his off year, all our excuses shouldn't matter.
