c_lou
My auction league team is pathetic. 0-2 and in deperate need of help at QB Here is my team: Culpepper - $19 McNair - $5 Shaun Alexander - $60 Tiki Barber - $45 Lawrence Maroney - $6 Fred Taylor - $9 Brandon Jacobs - $1 Maurice Morris - $1 Santana Moss - $20 Matt Jones - $8 Antonio Bryant - $5 Kennan McCardell - $5 Kevin Curtis - $3 Algea Crumpler - $6 Dallas Clark - $1 Jay Feely - $2 Lawernce Tynnes - $1 Atlanta - $1 Denver $1 I have been offered the following trade. SuperMn106
Re: Need Help from the Fantasy Footballers if you need some help i would say make the trade, vick is gonna put up some numbers every week. along with chad johnson. it would be hard to get rid of barber but i would do it. mike
muggs
Re: Need Help from the Fantasy Footballers Do it Lou! Vick and CJ!! Having Alexander makes losing Barber a lot easier to handle, plus I think Maroney is gonna be a point getter for you. If I was you, I'd pull the trigger on that deal and then try to trade for Corey Dillon. The Dillon/Maroney combo is gonna be tough!
MCH
Re: Need Help from the Fantasy Footballers No-brainer for me. Tell him "Heck no". I would like the Jacobs for Benson trade and I would have to think long and hard on the Bryant for Johnson trade. But there's no way I would give Barber for Vick. You'd be better off getting someone off the waiver wire or trying to seduce someone into giving you a top of the line starter for say Culpepper and Maroney. As a whole, I can honestly say, that right there is some of the worst advice I've ever seen.
MCH
Re: Need Help from the Fantasy Footballers Tiki Barber is one of the best fantasy players on the board. c-lou has the no doubt the best 1-2 combos at running back in his league. And if I'm not mistaken, you start two RB's in his league. If that's the case, he needs to build his team around those two players(barber and alexander). Maroney, Taylor and Jacobs are not all needed. There's got to be someone out there that has a lot of good talent at the QB postion that needs help at RB. I realize you start 2 QB's a week in his league, so if he could get a pretty decent QB like Brad Johnson, Leftwich or Smith without giving up one of his main running backs, that's what I would do. But hey, if you're desperate for a quick fix accept that trade. I just think you could do better and not have to give up Tiki. Come on muggsy....Tiki could be traded straight up for Peyton in most leagues.

But when you already have Alexander and you could add a Mike Vick and Chad Johnson, I'd say you have to do that. Then you could trade some of your stack WR for a decent RB...like Dillon to back up Maroney. btw- I think our bickering is doing more to confuse Lou's situation than to help him like he asked us to. MCH
Re: Need Help from the Fantasy Footballers Heck, he may learn something. I still don't like the trade. Vick may be playing like a "A" class QB right now, but he'll have to keep it up for the whole season before I'll bite. Vick has always been a Fantasy dog. If someone were to offer me Vick and Chad Johnson for Tiki Barber, I'd laugh my butt off. Tiki and Shaun are untouchables on anyones team. The goal to successful trades is to give up something that won't weaken your team, in order to strengthen it. Tiki will finish in the top 5 in TD's scored overall. Vick won't finish in the top 5 in QB's.

That's the pitfall with you fantasy guys. You live in the past to much. Just cause Vick hasn't been what he could have been in the past, doesn't mean he's always gonna be like that. The original trade included DeAngelo Williams instead of Benson. The other owner is just to in love with Williams to give him up. If it would have been Williams instead of Benson I would have pulled trigger already. I haven't yet. I really wanted Williams. I have since picked up Reggie Williams. [/ QUOTE ] what are you saying, Vick scores more combined TD's (rushing and passing) than Tiki does rushing and receiving? if that's the case, i'll just say I was born at night Kev, but not last night. how about this. Vick has the best season of his career this year...
MCH
Re: Need Help from the Fantasy Footballers No. My original bet was that Vick doesn't end up in the top 5 of TD's scored by QB's. I'm sorry c_lou, I just can't condone trading Tiki Barber for Michael Vick and a little bit of overflow from two other trades. Tell the guy no and then ask him what he would take for Vick alone. c_lou
Re: Need Help from the Fantasy Footballers I don't really want Vick. My main target was Johnson. My first offer was Barber & Jacobs for Johnson & Williams. I am going to decline the trade unless he throws in Williams instead of Benson. buckbuster11
Re: Need Help from the Fantasy Footballers Tough call. I really dont see Bryant putting up the kind of numbers he has the first two weeks through the whole season. He is a head case, and plays for the frickin 49ers for goodness sakes. Jacobs aint doing squat behind Barber, Benson is playing right now, so I look at this trade as basically Vick and Johnson for Barber. Thats a tough call. If you think you are that desparate at QB I'd pull the trigger, if not I'd try a couple counter offers and see what happens.

c_lou
Re: New Offer to Consider Fantasy Footballers [ QUOTE ] Counter offer: Vick and Johnson for Culpepper, Jacobs and Bryant [/ QUOTE ] I already know that won't fly. He wants Tiki to be included. Also we have been countering back and forth all day yesterday and today. Don't know if he will want another counter. He is one of these guys that takes it WAY to seriously. I think he already started planning for next years draft.
MCH
Re: New Offer to Consider Fantasy Footballers Tell him thanks but no thanks. I'm sorry, but Tiki Barber is a top 5 overall fantasy guy. I realize you've got another top 5 in Alexander but you just can't give Tiki up for a couple of "decent" players. If he were to offer Vick and Johnson for Tiki, I would still say no. It would just about take a Manning brother or McNabb and Chad Johnson or Torry Holt combo type deal for me to even consider giving up Tiki. Ohiobucks
Re: New Offer to Consider Fantasy Footballers You could argue who is getting the better half of that trade or whatever, but if your league is anything like the league that I am in, all trades must be voted on by the rest of the league and, 99.995% of the time, all trades get vetoed..... Other teams feel like one team is trying to get loaded off of another.....
