Im so Pround of my Son !

I was asked to help coach the little league football team this year since I was there all the time because my oldest son is finally old enough to play. The team is made up of 8,9,and 10 year old boys so naturally the older boys play the most since they have experience and size over the younger boys.

Well this past saturday we had a night game against a team that was much bigger than ours and we were having a tough time with them loosing 6-0 at half.

At the start of the 3rd one of our starting defensive tackles hurt his ankle and had to be replaced. Well my son at 75 pound jumped up and volunteered to go against the other teams biggest guy (120lbs). He played the rest of the game at defensive tackle and had 4 sacks and 1 blocked punt the he returned for a touchdown. We won 7-6! grin.gif

I think I was the proudest dad at the game and still am! Now I can't wait until Friday nights game!

Re: Im so Pround of my Son !

I have a nephew that plays tackle football. He is 10 and is 5'6 180 lbs. The league he plays in will not let him touch the ball. They have some rule about if you weigh over 90 lbs. you can't carry the ball at anytime. So if he gets a fumble he has to fall on it and can't advance it. When me and my brother played it was the ole "if your kid can't take the hits, you should put him in another sport".

I love watching little kids play. To bad my son is only 10 months old. My 15 year old daughter could care less about sports and my 8 year old daughter is a monster softball player. She is the only catcher in her league that can throw out someone stealing 3rd. I know what you mean. You just kind of sit there after the play with a quiet grin on your face. I love it. I love being a dad.

That is awesome, of all the times you wish you had your camera smile.gif .

You not kidding there, when he scored he proceeded to spike the ball and do a dance in the end zone. I forgot to tell him that was illegal, never figuring on him scoring this year. We took the penalty and made our extra point anyhow. He seems to be the big man on campus at practice now!

That's great!! I will never forget when my son scored his first touchdown, I did manage to get it on film though. You would have thought we just won the Super Bowl!!! grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif
