AaronS
Does anyone know the stats on these two scopes. The description in Cabela's reads the same. I'm sure the Monarch is crisper and brighter because of the increased price, but it doesn't read that way.
punkinslinger
Re: Nikon scopes: Pro Staff vs. Monarch Don't forget to take a look at the Buckmaster ..have 2 of them and they are a very nice scope. JMHO
wtnhunt
Re: Nikon scopes: Pro Staff vs. Monarch The wifes .243 has a buckmaster 3-9X40 scope on it. The scope is very clear and bright. Really would think there would be no comparison between the pro staff and the monarch, kind of like the leupold rifleman and the vxIII are probably not in any way comparable other than the name, but personally have never looked down either of those two nikon scopes. LifeNRA
Re: Nikon scopes: Pro Staff vs. Monarch I have a Monarch on my 270. Mannnnnnn did the price of these scopes go up! My father got a Pro Staff last year. He likes his, of course, I like mine too!
rifleman25
Re: Nikon scopes: Pro Staff vs. Monarch I wouldn't recommend any american glass other than the Monarch and Leupy VX2. Don't take a chance on a possible once in a lifetime shot.
too_pointer
Re: Nikon scopes: Pro Staff vs. Monarch I have a 2x7x32 pro-staff, and 3 3x9 buckmasters, I really like those. I haven't used a Monarch but imagine they are very good. The pro-staff is on my .22, the buckmasters on my centerfires. I find them very clear, never any problems, and think they are great for the price. too_

billkay
Re: Nikon scopes: Pro Staff vs. Monarch The difference is in the glass, coatings and light transmission. Pro Staff will transmit up to 90% light. Buckmaster series will transmit up to 92% light. Monarch UCC/Gold will transmit up to 95% light.
