that's great. I wished I would have had someone to show me around and for advise when I got started.

QDM at it's finest!

Same here, still learning here and this forum and some members here like Todd have been a great help despite never stepping foot on the property here. That is really cool.

Re: Had a forum visitor

The willingness to share is great. We all have made mistakes and hopefully learned from them. Often times a new view on something can be very valuable.

I welcome anyone on this forum to my [ our ] land to get or give advice. smile.gif

Friends, Family, and the outdoors. Takes on a new meaning when you meet new friends. To our surprise my son Marc and luckyman4 graduated from school the same year [ same school ] and were friends before. Small world, Huh? smile.gif

Re: Had a forum visitor

It was a great time had by all, I assure you!! Certainly wish I had more time, but that's the way it goes.

Marc and Lynn have a beautiful piece of property, and have done an amazing amount of work. They describe what they do as "an addiction," and I think many of the people that frequent this Land & wildlife mgt. forum can understand, even if we can't explain it.

The day was a very good learning experience for me as well, and I already know where I will be planting a Brassica plot next year. As far as the beans go, you really should take some pictures to show the forum the remnants you call beans. By the way, I predict the brassica plot inside the corn under Marc's treestand looks like that before the end of the season.

Thanks again, guys, and GOOD LUCK next week!!

From the other thread, it looks like Brian has plenty of Turnips. I've got some fresh front shoulder meat diced by broadhead. . . Sounds like a good breakfast to me!!

Re: Had a forum visitor

Apparently I have had some other guests!

Glad you came up guys. My only regret is I couldn't show you around. Hopefully we can spend a few minutes together and discuss what is what.

Ranger must be city born and bred! When have you ever seen antlers on an outhouse? Get with it guy! grin.gif

By the way I had Brian's cousins car in the shop today. When I found out he was with you I tacked on a $125 trespass fee. Now he claims he was kidnapped.!!!

Re: Had a forum visitor

Got to add to this post. Ranger made a comment about the beans not being too tall. If you noticed, the beans are much taller on one side of the plot than the other. They are also taller on one end than the other.

This has had a great effect on treestand placement! We have a good knowledge of deer movement by how the beans have been devoured.

You could call this power scouting! HEh! HEh!

Notice how we placed the beans in strategic rows skirting the corn. This was by design, not happenstance. grin.gif
