Shaun_300
Re: shot a deer How far did ya track it? The first deer I ever shot with the crossbow, I hit it back a little, just hit the liver. I tracked it for 400 yards before I found it! Hillbilly
Re: shot a deer You might have spooked her a little and she might have gotten up and then laid back down... give her some time.. I don't care how good the shot is, I always wait for 30 minutes or more... If you hit her right behind the shoulder she isn't to far. Maybe 50 yard or less... just wait til morning...hope you sleep well.

tedicast
Re: shot a deer [ QUOTE ] Go out there today and try to find it. If you dont find you gave it an honest try. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. You owe it to the animal to make every possible effort to recover her. You said that you found your arrow with the broadhead broken off. I'm guessing it wasn't a pass through. How much of the arrow is missing? At least that will give you some idea of how much penetration you got. If you only got one lung, it is amazing how long a deer can live, and how far it can go. Best of luck recovering the deer.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: shot a deer can we have more of your story, how far did you track with a good blood trail? She may be dead, go back and take some friends and do a search, spread out and if you have water in the area, check there, deer will seek out water when injured. Good luck and keep us posted. Rhino
Re: shot a deer [ QUOTE ] my arrow hit right behind her front shoulder.i found the arrow and the broadhead was broking off. [/ QUOTE ] How much of the end of your arrow was broken off? If only the last inch or 2 is broken off with the broadhead you might have hit the shoulder blade and didn't penetrate into the vitals. Like others have asked, how strong was your blood trail, etc.? Hope you recover her.

Turkeygirl
Re: shot a deer Hope you got out and found her! Give it your all and if you don't find her then, you gave it your best try. We all have lost a deer at some point and all you can do besides trying to find it, is to learn from it and get back in the saddle. Good luck!
