vagobbln
As if I needed more reasons to root for the US to whup some Euro butt, here's a quote from an Irish magazine that greeted the US team: "Most American golfers are married to women who cannot keep their clothes on in public," the magazine wrote. "Is it too much to ask that they leave them at home for the Ryder Cup? Consider the evidence. Tiger Woods' wife can be found in a variety of sweaty poses on porn sites." I wondered if our team was deep enough to pull it off, but maybe this will give them a little extra motivation. Either way, I don't think I'd want to see Tigger on the other side of the first tee on Friday. Go get'em boys!
Guest Finn
Re: Ryder Cup Yeah, Tiger usually excels when given a little more reason to focus. Example: Stephen Ames match play comment. These Ryder Cups have been dismal for the US. Sure hope our guys play to their potential. If that happens, I can't see us losing. buckbuster11
Re: Ryder Cup Tiger looked seriously ticked off yesterday when addressing the media about that. I'm still not sure if the U.S team is good enough top to bottom to win, but I'd be surprised if Tiger doesnt completely destroy everybody in his path. vagobbln
Re: Ryder Cup I think some of our guys are not only going to have to play up to their potential, but over their heads. I follow golf alot and play a ton, but I wouldn't know who Brett Wetterich was if he walked through my door right now. Just as an aside, why would the Euro's have a problem with women taking their clothes off in public anyway? They can't hold a major sporting event over there without some idiot streaking across the course/court or whatever. If Tiger's wife wants to do it, who am I to say it's wrong. Just let me know what time the telicast starts!
hunterfisherman
Re: Ryder Cup You don't go after a guys wife, bad stuff there. I thought he handled it very well. I would have been irate. He will go out and make them pay for those comment. Those and the ones Sergio made about hoping he gets to see Tiger because he doesn't play well in Ryder Cup. When are they going to learn. This guy is a monster and when he gets angry he takes it out on the golf course.
buffett1
Re: Ryder Cup I find it odd that the Euros have a problem with women taking their clothes off. If they are that offended by it I can't help but wonder about their preferences...maybe they just don't swing that way...
OJR
Re: Ryder Cup This thing is really crazy!! What a smear to Tiger's wife! I hope he cleans house, along with the rest of the team!
buckbuster11
Re: Ryder Cup I forgot to add what Sergio Garcia said of Tiger.... ""Fortunately for us, he doesn't have a great Ryder Cup record," Garcia was quoted as saying. "So I'm looking forward to hopefully going out there and meeting him two or three times." Tiger's response...... "As far as the Sergio comments, hopefully we can get together out there and play," Woods said. I smell a beatdown. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Ryder Cup "Sergio should be careful for what he wishes for" I too smell a beatdown, not only is Tiger on a roll but they offended his wife and a guy like Tiger is not going to take that easy, he is going to be hard to beat!! superguide
Re: Ryder Cup You never poke a sleeping Tiger-two or four legged-he's a class act kind of the Wayne Gretzky of golf-that's as big a compliment as I can think of. Tominator
Re: Ryder Cup I don't know why I get so hyped up about the Ryder Cup. U.S. has lost 4 of the last 5, and 7 of the last 10? I agree with John, don't know that the U.S. is strong enough top to bottom to win.
buckbuster11
Re: Ryder Cup Woods and Furyk won their first match.....and are currently playing Garcia and Donald. I'm looking for a beatdown in that match. Europe leads overall though...2.5 to 1.5.
Tominator
Re: Ryder Cup Well, could have ended better, could have ended worse I guess. Those matches at the end sure did swing quick. Spare me the proufound comment John.
Ironranger
Re: Ryder Cup I hope Tiger and the rest of the USA go out and stomp some euro rear. Although I haven't been a big Tiger fan, I'm coming around in that area. Go USA!! It's the same broken record...The English and French and other Euro countries take every opportunity to cut us down. Not to get off the golf subject but it's a funny thing how the French and British forget what we did for them in WWII. How the boys turn it around... buckbuster11
Re: Ryder Cup We dont have enough good young players. Look at Europe with Garcia, Donald, Casey and others. They already have their future set while all we have is Brett Weitrich and Vaughn freaking Taylor.
