Not my day

I was just out trying to patch up a little hole behind the shed where the puppy was escaping and her and I were swarmed by yellow-jackets. We both got stung a few times.

When I told her to run, she did just that. Now we're nursing our wounds and consoling each other.

I'll have to keep an eye on her and myself here, because it's been years since I've been stung, and she never has been to my knowledge ooo.gif

Ouch

Oh man..........sorry to hear about that Steve. frown.gif

Our Jack Russell Lucy got into a nest of those blasted things a couple of months ago. Thank goodness she wasn't allergic because there wasn't one single spot on her body that didn't have a lump on it. I think she tried to hang around and bite back!!! grin.gif

Ibuprofen and ice. That's all I know that works. confused.gif

Gas and a match for the yellow jackets. wink.gif

Re: Not my day

Sorry to hear that hope you're both okay. My dog gets stung on a daily basis by bees. I'm glad she's not allergic. She likes the taste of honey bees so she runs around the yard and tries to catch them. More than one time I've gone out to find her nose all swollen or lips. She never learns, though. crazy.gif

The swelling isn't getting too bad, and I ain't dead yet, so I should be OK.

The pups pretty active too, but she keeps coming to me for some hugs grin.gif

Thats cause she knows who her daddy is

Re: Not my day

Sorry to hear about that Steve, hope you heal fast and keep an eye on the puppy to make sure she does not have a reaction.

I am allergic to bee stings, I let them do their thing and I do mine.

What happened was when I was a kid I found where they were hiding under the aluminum siding on the house, well stupid me decided to wake them up with a stick, well they won that battle!! They got me good, eyes swelled up like Tyson after a fight!!

I appreicate them now and what they can do in numbers! Hard to out run too!

Heal fast Steve!!

Huntin Girl,

My Jack Russel did the same thing. We disturbed a yellow jacket nest and I ran for it. Heard the dog screaming and snarling and had to come back in and grab him because he was standing his ground and attempting to fight back. Just not in their nature to run I guess.
