lonewolf5347
Re: barnes I tried the precision 300 grain silver lighting in my 54 cal. two deer both never took a step,on the other hand the QT'S 45 cal. 350 grain poly tip did bring down a huge 8 pointer but went 75 yards and seem to leave very little blood trail, the silver light left a exit hole like a softball. I would have to say if they were not that exspensive I would of stayed with them.I here from other shooters good review on the buffalo 375 grain BTHP BULLET SABOT
EIGHTPOINT
Re: barnes I shoot the Barnes 250 w/ 120 gr. of 777 out of my Encore 50 cal. I shot the gun at the range last on 11-27-04 and had 4 of 5 shots in a 3/4" group at 100 yards w/ the 3rd shot a " flyer ". I was very happy with that as this gun has always shot good with this combination. The weekend before that however was very foggy and wet out and the gun shot crappy. That was the reason for going back on 11-27-04. All guns are different so what works for my gun may not work for you. Good Luck !!
tped
Re: barnes I shoot the Barnes 250 in both my Encore and Omega with excellent results. Both guns will consistently shoot 1" groups behind 120 grains of loose 777. The Barnes has performed as expected on game
Guest ronin
Re: barnes I had good accuracy with them but expansion was nil. The bullet deformed slightly and that was it. I really don't know why. I eventually settled on Hornady SST's.
SaskMan
Re: barnes I used them this year in 300 gr. and loved them. Groups were tight at the range and the blood trail my buck left behind was unlike any I'd ever seen.
