Guest PAdeerdreamer
I know there has been alot of talk about PA"s deer herd.Well if you goto the PGC web. the game officers have issued ther reports for this year. Most area"s Exspecially public land is rated poor.Maybe this will open there eyes
Hoyt03
Re: PA Deer Only thing that opens their eyes is the millions of dollars they make by selling 6$ doe tags. Almost 900,000 were sold this year. 6$ for res 25$ for non res, you do the math. By the way the 2 stamps per yellow envelope also generates quite a few dollars. JimPic
Re: PA Deer I hunt 2C and it was rated fair for the district I hunt.Last year the hunting was pitiful!I saw 4 deer on stand during archery and the 1st day of rifle-and this was on private land.Even all the locals I talked to last year said they hadn't seen too many deer-so fair is a big improvement over last year.I'll keep my fingers crossed. snapper
Re: PA Deer PGC isn't killing all the deer...they are just making money. Hunters kill the deer...we need to stop blaming the PGC for something that we all know they can't control. Seems like there are alot of hunters complaining...but yet they sell almost all the doe tags every year. The PGC needs the money...but do the hunters need to kill 2 or more deer? They are getting paid to determine how many doe tags they give out to certain areas etc.. we should not have to be making those types of decisions ourselves. sskybnd
Re: PA Deer it sounds like you pa hunters have a hard time filling your tags, like there an't to many deer, i have seen them limit us to 1 deer per season when they felt the heard was in trouble, and ive seen them do it for 2yrs in a row,

[/ QUOTE ] Oh how wrong you are...lol...every letter/article I read from hunters say...PGC don't know what they are doing, they should listen to the sportsmen! Sounds to me like "most" hunters think they can do a better job...but don't want the responsibilty of being the next Gary Alt. [ QUOTE ] it sounds like you pa hunters have a hard time filling your tags, like there an't to many deer, [/ QUOTE ] I never...repeat, never had a hard time filling tags. I've went a few years without filling my buck tag...but that was by choice. Last year I took a nice 9pt. in archery and 2 does in rifle season. woodsman2230
Re: PA Deer I think they should seperate the seasons again like they had it when I first started hunting. For most people the buck season is it. If they dont shoot a buck most people arent going to take off work to shoot a doe. That would increase the deer population. shockwave
Re: PA Deer LOL, this subject comes up a couple of times a year. We control how many does get killed, if you dont want to kill a doe dont buy a doe license, plain and simple...
bghunter777
Re: PA Deer maybe I am missing something I hunt 2c I have many quarrels with our game commision but lack of deer is not one. I do about half of my hunting on public land and about half my hunting on private. yes I do see more deer on the private land but last year was a great year for hunting I saw some of my biggest and prob more deer than every before. I had a few opportunities at 120+ bucks but lets not talk about those I ended up taking an 8pt about 15wide scored 101. I thought he was bigger. but I do not think I could count on one hand times I went out and did not have deer within shooting range. the first day of buck I took my uncle out from new mexico since I could not hunt. I took him to one of my secret spots. lol rite in the middle of public hunting land. we saw 10 different bucks and prob 50 deer. a few may have been repeats but the deer are there if we are willing to go get them. he ended up taking a 10pt that prob scored around 100. I am in college now but have been home to do some scouting. and have seen several 100-120 class bucks and 1 or 2 that will go higher. not to mention plenty of does. I said all that to simply imply. and please I am not putting anyone down. but many times its the hunter that just goes out and sits there thinking hunting is luck that complains about the lack of deer. the deer are there we just have to find em. Pa is no illinois or Montana Milk river area but there are deer to be taken.
