ousoonerfan22
This morning my son and I cleared and planted a small plot(25'x50') in a small clearing in a pin oak thicket on the public land next to the river,we had to use the boat to get to it.Since this area is bow only now I hope nobody finds and hunts this plot.I placed a salt block there early this spring and it's gone but the shallow hole had fresh tracks around it,we added some loose salt and my son added a bag of black magic or something like that.Anyway we cleared and raked then spread turnip, rape, winter peas, oats, wheat and ryegrain plus some triple 13. We need to go back this week and cut some shooting lanes. I bought a 2 gallon jug of molasses that I've poured on some dead stumps to see if the deer will mess with it or not. dogdoc
Re: just planted another plot sounds good Brian. I hope you get a good little plot going. The temps have been a little cool right now and I've seen a little slow down in the growth of my fall plots. Hopefully we will get some good sunny days to get that plot up and running! good luck on your little spot! todd
ousoonerfan22
Re: just planted another plot Todd, My coweta plot with the clover, alfalfa and trefoil has been slow to come up but today it looks like it's starting to grow.Either the rape or the turnips in my plots comes up pretty quick. The oats, wheat, ryegrain and winter peas are coming up well in another plot.
