deerslayer10 Posted October 30, 2006 Report Share Posted October 30, 2006 Re: Team 2 I went out yesterday morning and got set up in my stang bout 5:30..got in there a little late...but it was just statin to break day and here come a buck chasin a doe and i could tell he had a big body and i seen he had good brows and a good main beam so i figured he was a good deer so i shot him at 20 yards and dropped him but come to find out he was only a 6 pointer ...Good luck to the rest of the team.. There were two little hairs on my broadhead. I followed up for blood (just to be sure) and was positive I missed. Hopefully, he'll give me another chance as the rut builds up! CTBowMan Posted November 5, 2006 Report Share Posted November 5, 2006 Re: Team 2 Congrats...that's awesome -- my story to follow...Went out Wed AM, saw 9 deer total, but none of them would come into my range...Went back out Fri AM, got to my stand about 5am, and at 6:30 heard a deer off to my right, I was able to see it was a nice 8 pointer...he makes his way down to the stream that I was sitting over, and he's taking a drink, I guesstimate that he's about 20 yds away...his head is down, he's totally clueless...I draw and let my arrow fly, and I hear my arrow hit, the deer jumps, doesn't blow or anything stops for a second, I'm trying to nock another arrow, and he starts walking away looking like he's going to circle back...but he just keeps going...I felt like I was going to throw up...how long does it take for that feeling to go away anyway???? So needless to say I'm feeling a little down, but it could be worse, I could of just injured him..instead of it being a clean miss all together...I'll be back out there next week trying again, I refuse to quit! I guess in the time between he got into a scrap with another buck cause some of his rack got busted. That's ok with me though. He's still a good buck and I'm glad to have him! Got home from Montana last night...Had a great trip...I limited out on all 3 tags...My deer is a 9 pt. but I will have to measure the broken brow to see if its an inch to make it a 10 pt....I also got a 6x6 bull elk and a 13" antelope....pics to follow soon...
