Griz
Re: Team 3 Well team tomorrow is the day. I will be in the woods and on the stand by 6am. Took some film in yesterday from my Deer Cam and I have about 10 deer traveling a trail were I will be hunting. I had 5 different bucks on it. 3 of the bucks were small. The other 2 are good management bucks. So we shall see what happens in the morning. I would like to wish everyone a good and safe season... Good Luck to ya... I will report back here tomorrow night to let yall know how it went... Griz...

Griz
Re: Team 3 Well here is what happen on my opener... The weather stinks...It was hot. When I got up this morning it was 83 degrees and climbed up to 98 today... I got in the stand by 6:30am this morning. At 9am. I caught movement off to my left side. It was a big male bobcat. I thought I would bag this bad boy. The bobcat stopped 7 yards from me. As I was bring the bow to full draw he looked up at me. I released the arrow and the cat ran off. Sad to say...it was a clean miss. My arrow reflecked off of a small limb... This evening when I got to the stand man it felt like summer all over again...It was really hot and the wind was blowing some where between 20 and 30mph. After sitting in the stand for 4 hours it was getting dark and fast. It was getting to the point you could veryly see. I went ahead and lowered my bow down and was just getting ready to climb down I saw some movement. It was 2 does and a spike. So I just sat back and enjoyed the show... All and all...Today was fantastic...

ny_gun
Re: Team 3 Just 12 days left until the opening of the NY season! Hopefully I will be able to get us on the board early with this buck that walked past my stand Saturday morning. If you look just to the left of the buck you will see the ladder for my stand. billkay
Re: Team 3 This is the Ind Urban Zone deer I'm looking for. My stand is in the cottonwood behind him. I will also gun hunt in Ind near Indy, and I have a Zone 5, 1st season firearms tag in Iowa. Going on the Knight Rifle Invitational hunt. That's on Dec.2-6th. Rhino
Re: Team 3 No deer yet for me but it sure was a great weekend. A close friend of mine took his 11 year old son on his 1st bowhunt Saturday and he killed his 1st deer with a bow. It's a nice 8 point still in velvet with a 13 1/2 inisde spread that sported 21" and 21 1/4" main beams. At a little over 200 pounds the deer ages as a 4 year old buck. I had previoulsy gotten 27 trail cam pics of the buck and we set up a 15' double ladder for this younster to hunt the buck. The buck was on a timetable that was hard to believe. He was there every afternoon between 5:00 and 6:15. My young buddy killed the buck at 5:20 Saturday afternoon. I'll post pics and the story in the bowhunting room later. superguide
Re: Team 3 WEll I went out for a peek last two nights-I saw a pretty good buck last night-a big 6x6 with probably a 24 inch spread-I had him dialed in with my spotting scope-superguide jr. had the scope on him but he bedded down before he got close enough-I'd hate to have a team 5 member take a book deer but I guess he is my kid too lol. Rhino
Re: 3 - Team Renzos Dale....I recently saw JimT was here and that was right after the teams were picked. He was in the Louge at the time. Sort of surprised he hasn't checked in yet. I don't recall seeing bowhunter81 in a while but I haven't been here as much as I usually am either. Too much work in the way I guess. Now work is finally winding down so it doesn't cut into my play time. Speaking of play time....it looks like is going to cool off some Friday so I'll head down to our camp tomorrow and hunt through Monday or so. These 3 shooter size bucks are hanging around the same area so I won't shoot a doe anywhere close to where I got these pics. These 2 sets were only about 150 yards from one another. I have stands within 20 yards of both of these sets ready to hunt too. I just need any kind of east wind to hunt them. I have some other places to shoot does where I haven't gotten any pics of mature bucks. I'll try to take a doe for meat during this next hunting trip. Griz
Re: 3 - Team Renzos Wow yall have some good lookin' bucks there... Good Luck to ya... Looks like the temps here are going to start cooling down some. The wind is going to be out of the North East which is perfect for one of my stands. I'm wanting to hunt in the morning but I have some work that needs to be done here on the ranch so looks like I will be hitting the woods for an afternoon hunt... Rhino
Re: 3 - Team Renzos Good luck Dale. Sorry about the red X. They moved my 2nd pic so here it is. I just wish if they are going to move a pic that they would also make the correction since my edit time expired.

JimT
Re: Team 3 Hey Guys..... Sorry I have not been around. I do not have the net at home yet and can only get online once in a while at work. It has been a busy season for me. I have been out after the mighty whitetail a few times, but nothing yet. I hope to pick it up more this coming week. talk to you all soon... Jim
Guest BowHunter81
Re: Team 3 I spooked a monster daybefore yesterday while going up a tree, at lest 18 - 20 inches wide, he was a horse.
ny_gun
Re: Team 3 I just thought I would check in and let everyone know how opening weekend here in NY went for me. It was a little slow I only saw 3 deer all weekend. Saturday morning I had opportunities on a button buck and a 3 point but passed on both. Sunday morning I had an opportunity on a 7 point but once again passed. I am holding out for one of the big bucks we caught with our trail camera over the last month. There is still quite a bit of corn standing so I believe the deer are in there. Hopefully it will come down soon and push the deer back into the woods. redryder
Re: Team 3 Found a big brown envelope on the front porch! Thank you Bill and Renzos. It is going to be fun to see how these decoys work.
Rhino
Re: Team 3 OK....fess up time for me. I pulled a bonehead move. I killed a mature doe Saturday morning but with rushing to clean mine and get it out of the way for another guy waiting on me to finish in the skinning shed, I forgot to take a pic for the 5 points. Another senior moment for me...sorry teammates but I'll bag at least another doe between now and 1/31/07. Hopefully a mature buck or 2 or 3. We get 3 bucks here at home. I'll be hitting the road before long too. I should be in Illinois toward the end of this month and then on to Kansas for a week or so with stick and string in hand.
