superguide
Re: Team 3 Well I finally went out tonight with Saskman,Bigmoss and Superguide Jr.-Saskman and I made a circle and had to stillhunt through several does and fawns to get where I wanted. It was awesome saw probably 15 bucks-I passed a 150 plus 5x5 at probably 50 feet. He hung up there for about 15 minutes-he had weak browtines or he'd of probably gotten whacked-really good G2 and 3's though. I'll give it another go in the A'M I guess. We found an old bear skull in some slash-that's something I've never seen before.
SaskMan
Re: Team 3 I tried to get him to whack that 5x5 for you guys, he just wouldn't do it. lol It was a freakin' zoo out there, deer all around us. I've been onto some "deery" places but that one took that cake. Thanks superguide for the hunt, we'll do it again.
superguide
Re: Team 3 THe deer gods peed on us this A'M-Ty and I went out and still hunted the edges-I got pinned down about tenyards from some does for about 20 minutes. Ty was trying to cut the 'Droopy' buck off but he beat him to the bush. We didn't get south soon enough and some guy walked down the property line and shot the big 7x7. Was kind of a bittersweet deal helping him load him.

billkay
Re: Team 3 Yeah, it would be nice to send them a couple of pix if we get lucky. They must have been desperate on their packaging this year. My ugle mug appears on the box. Pretty scarey, huh? I just wasn't sure what they would send. That's all. superguide
Re: Team 3 Is one coming my way Bilkay-I'd of liked to try one this A'M had about ten bucks within 300 yards of me sparring and chasing does.
billkay
Re: Team 3 Should be, if you sent me a PM with your addie. I believe that you did. Might take a while longer to get to the "Great Up There".
billkay
Re: Team 3 How's it going for everyone? Everyone have their dekes now? I hope so. I just got the chance to lease a small property attached to another prop I hunt. The new lease is probably the best 20 acres of deer land I have ever seen. It is about the only bedding area in a large ag and developed area. Once the corn is out, this is THE place the deer flock/herd to. I am so pumped right now... Griz
Re: Team 3 Season here has been slow... How ever I did finally see a desent 8 pointer Sunday morning. He was just alittle to far for a bow for me to shoot...75 yards to be exact. I had 15 deer milling around out in front of me Sunday evening. It was awesome...I figure the big boys will start moving here before to long. I'm hunting a small field that is over grown with various different kinds of small trees that are scattered about. This area is tore up with big buck sign. I am set up on a main trail that goes to and from this field...It's only a matter of time now... Hope everyone eles season is going to great... Good Luck yall...
Rhino
Re: Team 3 Almost all of my work for the year is done so I can spend more playtime in the woods from here on out to mid January or so. I hope anything that I missed workwise can be handled over the phone. Heck....it's almost rut time so time to get fired up and go play in the woods. Right now I'm taking a break from packing and re-organizing my bowhunting gear to head off on my roadtrips. Have to reorganize as much as possible to conserve space in the back of my Yukon. I should be leaving for Illinois this Sunday to hunt 5 to 7 days unless I tag out early. I'll get home and take at least a few days rest before I take off again for Kansas on the 11th. I may still get in a day or so of bowhunting here before I hit the road this weekend. BTW, I didn't hunt this past weekend. I had other commitments to attend to. It was was parents 56th wedding anniversary so I spent the weekend with them and the rest of the family.
billkay
Re: Team 3 Shot a 10 point tonite. He has a broken G3 but I think there is enough to score as a point. Field dressed at 210 lbs. Got a quick pic but will post better ones tomorrow. 35 yard shot, center punched the heart. He went about 80 yards and piled up.

Griz
Re: Team 3 Went out for a morning hunt today. Man the temps here were perfect. Bucks are starting to pickup and move more. I took the Renzo Buck Decoy with me and a set of horns. I rattled in a small Spike. I got to laughing because of the way he attcked. He came busting in with his ears laid back and neck bowed up like he was ready to take on the world. As he started circling the decoy he would stop and stare at it as if he was saying "What Heck Is Wrong With You"... I got to giggling just watching him. I also called in a big Mature 10 point. He held up on me 60 yards out and wouldn't comment. It would have been a perfect rifle shot but since I am Bow Hunting all I could do is watch him walk away... All and all, it was GREAT... I'm going to try and see if I can't seek off a little early today from work and try my luck this evening... Thanks again Bill for the Decoys and the tips... superguide
Re: Team 3 Ty and I went out with the dekes last night-it was a big creek flat we'd never hunted before-Ty set up with his bow on a point and I still hunted a half circle with the muzzie-I set up on a bit of a ridge about 400 yards Nw of him-a high 150's buck came out dogging a doe-he gave the dekes a good stare but wouldn't leave his hotty to check it out-he was with 100 yards of serious Omega trouble. Rhino
Re: Team 3 I got home from Illinois late yesterday after hunting 8 days in a row. To put it in a nutshell, I choked on 2 big ones. The 1st one was a 145 class 9 point that was a main frame 4x4 with a mule deer kicker about 5" long. I had him at 20 yards but a thin limb I didn't notice in the early morning light deflected my arrow into the ground at his feet. I hate it after a miss when they stop out there behind cover about 50 yards away, then wag their tail before they walk off. It was within the first 30 minutes of daylight that morning and I had until 1:00 that afternoon to sit in my stand and think about that blown opportunity. The 2nd one was a 140 class 4x4 at 25 yards. I shot right over the top of his back late on the 6th afternoon. In disbelief I'd miss a chip shot like that, I shot my bow the next day to check zero. Somewhere along the hunt while pulling my bow up in the dark I must have grabbed the string and pulled my peep sight up. I was shooting about 6" high. I re-set my peep to zero it out to 40 yards but never had a shooter buck in range after that 2nd blown opportunity. I'm re-grouping to leave for Kansas right now. Getting a few chores out the way before I hit the road around 5:30 am this Saturday.
