RangerClay
Re: 4 - The Rib Ticklers We had our opening day of rifle season here in northern NY this past weekend. It was the first time in years that we had snow for opening day. It was a very quiet opening day. I only heard 5-6 shots all day. I saw two does then about 10am a trespasser busted my set-up I cannot wait for the rut to get here How did you guys and gals do?
Guest Huntergirl
Re: 4 - The Rib Ticklers Hello to all the Rib Ticklers just a little update here in Iowa the deer were moving alot last night here between me and my son we seen aleast 40 does but only 3 bucks my son shot a doe and there was a nice little bruiser coming in to me but just walked behind my stand I got no shot. But I know that rut is right around the corner!!!!!! Go get'em RIB TICKLERS!
VTbowman
Re: 4 - The Rib Ticklers Well folks not so good news here in VT. Our bow season has had very crappy weather. High 30s to 40s and rain everyday I had gone out, some snow but not anything to speak of. I have been hitting it hard but I can't seem to scrape up even a yearling doe. LOL I have about 1 1/2 hours to hunt this evening once the wife gets home and then all day Sunday. Naturally it call for rain/snow mix both days. Looks like rifle and ML season is gonna be my chance to add point of our team. Go get em Team 4!
RangerClay
Re: 4 - The Rib Ticklers Living in the northeast I can attest to what Shawn is saying. The weather SUCKS!!!! All the hunters here in NY are complaining about it too. I expect an arc to show anyday now. I guess you will have to stop missing those big does with your bow Shawn and bring out the big guns
Cutter
Re: 4 - The Rib Ticklers Hi Ribticklers, hows everyone? I was finally able to hunt yesterday. Its been over two weeks since I was last out.I seen 5 does, they past out of range so no chance to fill a doe tag. I may have to do some fine tuning on the stand placement. Good luck to all. VTbowman
Re: 4 - The Rib Ticklers Well Team my bow season is over. I gave it my best effort, spend WAY more time on stand then I normally do, played the wind, etc. I did everything right but the deer did not seem to move during day light hours. This fact comfirmed on all our trail cams too with every pics taken during night time hours. I have one more day of open bow season tommmorow but the weather is calling for hard rain, and winds over 20 mph with gust over 40 mph. I dont mind getting wet, as I have ever day out so far, but wind speeds that high are not safe nor ethical IMO for a good clean shot on live game. Our rifle season opens Nov 11th and I will be doing some all day hunts then. Hoping on that basket racked 8 that has been seen in the area. I still can use my archey tag in the December season as its a combo ML/Archery season. Though I do have a doe permit (FINALLY) for this years ML season so I am not sure how much the bow will see of it. LOL Good Luck to those still hunting! LOL [/ QUOTE ] I agree I'm off for hunting camp this weekend I didn't hunt last weekend because I had to attend a wedding. BTW! There should be a law against getting married during deer season I plan to be in camp about 6:30 then I have about a 1/2 hour hike to carry my climber into a new watch I found. I am anxious to see how this new watch pans out Wish me luck!! Joe

Guest Huntergirl
Re: Team 4 Well I am trying to get a shot. Just this morning I went out.I did get to see 3 dead deer but it was because they were hit by cars and all 3 of them were nice bucks. I thought about getting in my car and just driving around for for a bit, HA HA!!! We got a little snow last night and I will be back at them in a little while. Good Luck out there.!!! VTbowman
Re: Team 4 Congrast Joe! Pics?!?! Oh and Cutter... Dont drink that warm pee bottle... Definately dont eat the yellow snow. Come on man your from the nord, you should know these things. LOL I had 4 days off and it baically rained and was very warm. All I saw was a few doe per day and one buck about 240 yards out one morning, in the rain, and all I could see is that he had main beams. I did not get enough time to scope him to make sure he was legal and then he slipped into the woods line. I have 4 days of 12s (work) and then some sketchy 4 days off. Child care is putting a damper on some of my hutning. I plan to take my 5 yo daughter out one evening or not hunt at all. LOL Good Luck to all..
