Well everyone I shot a nice 10 pt on Friday, the opening morning of Illinois shotgun season. He's not a monster, but he is pretty nice. I shot him at 6:30 Friday morning at 10 yds. Very exciting hunt. I will post pictures very soon. Good luck all!!

Re: Team 6

Monday is the rifle opener here in PA! I'm getting ready and packing tonight to go back to Indiana, PA... I do have work tomorrow, but from thanksgiving through monday I have off. Maybe with all the insane PA hunting action on our opener I'll nail one! Good luck to all still searching for something to stick a tag in!

Re: Team 6

Well this past week I was planning on hunting everyday, but instead I have been looking for some of our cattle and fixing holes in the fences. I think I got the last of the holes fixed this morning and all of our cattle back on our place.

Went hunting for the first time this afternoon, seen a couple of small bucks and a few does, but still nothing for me. Plan on going out again in the morning, then checking the cattle and make sure they are still around, if so, then I will be out again tommorrow afternoon.

Re: Team 6

What a terrible week this turned out to be for me. What i thought was going to be a perfect week turned bad quick. I didnt get to go for five evenings in a row because we were working on our baseball field. However, I did go 7 of 9 mornings and 4 evenings but came out with nothing. We werent even seeing much this week. I saw no legal bucks all week. Action has been slow but it usually is around here from Thanksgiving through the first week of December. Kind of a pre-rut lull. Rut should be heating up in a couple of weeks though. I still have two months to get one though, so i have plenty of time. Good Luck to all

Re: Team 6

Not had much luck here either. My husband (wtnhunt) got a 7 pointer. I passed on a 3 point trying to hold out for something bigger. Was off the whole week of Thanksgiving and went everyday, most days went morning and evening. We have a quota doe hunt this weekend. maybe i will have a chance at a big fat doe (yummy). Will keep you posted.

Re: Team 6

I wont get a chance to go any evening this week cause we've already started conditioning, weights, and throwing for baseball. Also won't get to go til Saturday evening because i'm coach's assistant at a camp he's putting on Friday evening and Saturday morning. I'll prolly die saturday morning cause temps supposed to be in mid 20's and i'll be on a baseball field.

Re: Team 6

Ok everyone here is a brief story and some pics. My stand is down at the base of a ridge, and up at the top of the ridge on my left is a huge wide open pasture. Around 6:15 in the morning I look up at the top of the ridge and this buck is coming over the pasture. He stood at the top of the ridge at the fence for what seemed like 15 mins. He finally decided to jump into the woods. He walked straight down the ridge right to me and turned broadside at 10 yds and I smoked him. He ran less than 30 yds and crashed. Here are a few pics! Good luck everyone!! [image]deer_13.jpg[/image]
