Re: Team 11

I just entered him in the contest. Here is a picture of him. He's not big at all but pretty cool looking I guess. I still have 2 more buck tags in case I get one bigger. A buddy of mine shot a monster 8pt by my house. I'm happy for him but sick to know how close that deer was to my property. I'll post that picture on the forum too.

Thanks for the congrats!

Re: Team 11

AWESOME buck Eric!! There will be many more monster 8-points, but a buck like you got definitely doesn't come along every day.

I'll have an upgrade coming sometime, too. Weather finally turned cold here in NY, and the deer started to move a little more. . . shot an 8-point (maybe 7 for this contest) on Thanksgiving morning laugh.gif!

Re: Team 11

Nothing for me again this weekend. I still have next weekend and a weekend in January for late season. I really hope to contribute. Hopefully the rest of the team had a better weekend. It was miserably cold out this weekend with the winter storm that rolled in on Thursday. Good Luck, We still have time. Wade

3 sinks of dishes done

1 bathroom, kitchen, and living room cleaned

1 Christmas tree decorated

3 kids kept busy

0 MILES TRAVELED

1 happier wife that put up with me since September 27. Guess I'm pretty much done with the deer for this year smile.gif. Time to dust off my trusty 12 ga. and get the rabbits running!!

Where are your numbers Marc??

Re: Team 11

LOL Luckyman!!!

My season isn't over but one of the deer we were targeting is dead. My dad has trail cam pics of a buck he's had in his backyard several times. Well we hunted a farm about 1 1/2 miles from our houses and a guy that hunted with our group killed THAT buck. I'm bumming over it. I really wanted my dad to kill it. I was hoping he was on my property behind my house. Oh well. He would have helped our score out some. Here's a picture of him.

Re: Team 11

Beautiful buck!! If that's the guy that shot him, it looks like he's hunted a couple years and deserves a nice one like that smile.gif.

Did your dad offer to give him any of the trail cam pics?? Would make for a very cool mount to have live pics with it.

Re: Team 11

After countless days afield this fall, sometimes even with standing -30 degree celcious weather with 40km an hour winds I came up short on my buck. A few hours ago our hunting season offically ended for another season. I had much fun while out and very disapointed that it has ended. This season I was holding out for a 130" or better but 2ft of snow a week into rifle season left the back roads not accesible. I stuck to the bushes close to roads and had some close misses. All in all I am happy to let a buck grow bigger for next year. Im sorry if I let the team down, and I hope everyone else had as much fun as me this season! Only 9 more months until September!

Now its time to hunt for coyotes and look for sheds!

shedhunter you didn't let anybody down. The main thing is enjoying your time in the woods. Some years are better then others and the main thing is getting outside and enjoying nature at it's best grin.gifgrin.gif

Re: Team 11

WOW, what a weekend folks, it all happened on Sunday. About 13 of us got together for the last day hunt for shotgun and we were pretty successfull I took everybody down to my hunting area to push, the first drive we did we did not see anything so we decided to push the block of woods were I have all my stands placed, and we pushed out two massive bucks could not believe it. We only got one of them it was a huge 5 point he has a very tall and heavy rack last year I 3 shot oppurtunity on him he looked a little like a texas long horn with only 4points then but what a change in a year, he put about 50lbs on and just grew heavy horns est: 31/2, the other buck that I have been chasing that none of these guys ever beilived me until yesterday when one of them got a shock of a lifetime, same drive same field. My friend got two shot's at him but only grazed hair we tracked him for 1 mile with no blood so I was satisfied enough that he will still be around, This Buck was a perfect 12 point ranging in the high 170 class unreal my friend told me that has to be the biggest Buck he has seen in along time and he does alot of hunting, So hopefully I will give him a good week before I go down again and sneak into his bedroom and shut the lights off on him I am Just praying. Sorry for the long story but I had to spill my guts on this one.
