Re: Team 14

greetings fellow team mates from Iowa. wink.gif lets here a little from each person so that we might develope a team name. im 46 and i live in south central Iowa. lots of deer and lots of nice bucks. my season starts sunday and i plan on being in a stand sunday morning. wink.gif

i strickly hunt with bow, but i will use a muzzleloader during late season sometimes. i have gotten a deer the last 15 years in a row with bow and this year will be the same. i usually get a doe for sure, but last year i shot a 10 point trying to filla doe tag.. grin.gif

my game plan is to hunt with recurve for the first 10 days of the season to fill my county doe tag. if thats doesnt happen i will then pull out my compound and take the first mature doe that comes by. then i hunt for a trophy only the rest of the season.

this is going to be a good season for me. i got a couple of new places to hunt and my hopes are to bag a buck bigger than the one i shot last year.. grin.gif

i see NiteRunner is from NE Ohio. i used to live in Uniontown and Hartville. you live anywhere near there ?

good luck to everyone.

Shoot Strong

Tony

Re: Team 14

Hi team mates. I'm 22 and live in Central PA. My parents and I own 225 acres of managed land. We have 5 large food plots and fields of standing corn. For the last 5 years I've been harvesting lots of doe and bucks that are mature usually 4.5 or older. This is my second year of this contest and last year I harvested a nice 10 point. Bow season starts saturday and I'll be hunting all day. I've got plenty of good sheds from last year and lots of trial camera pictures of some good bucks. I've spotted a big 8 point that probably goes 150's I'll be after him!

Good luck to everyone.

Joe

Re: Team 14

Hey ya'll. I'm Joe from Southern Illinois. I have lived here all of my life and hunted for the past 10 yrs of it. I have a little girl named Emileigh Jane who turns 2 mos today and my wife Angie. I think the funnest thing about hunting is that I go with friends a lot and we have a blast whether we get a deer or not. Our strategies are different but we don't care as long as we are hunting and having fun. I bowhunt only and love the idea of being the silent asassin. LOL. No loud booms and other people's loud booms too close to me. More skill involved and a longer season helps too. I hunt both private and public land but spend a majority of the time where I see the most deer. I have a few new spots picked out and I hope they pay off well. Thinking of names for the team already and I'll let you know if I have any good ones. Good luck everyone and I'll be posting with a big deer soon I hope. Season starts Oct. 1. which is this coming Sunday.

Re: Team 14

Hi Again Team!

Hey Tony, I know of those places, about a good half hour from me, I think. I live in Portage CO.

More about my hunting,

This will be my second year Bow hunting, and I'm hoping to fill a tag with useing the bow as it'll be my first with the bow. Been seeing some Does behind my house where I'll be hunting, and if I can get no in range I'll let an arrow fly from my compound.

As for the controlled Hunts, I can use an antlerless tag for it or if a good buck comes into range I'll take him.

Gun Season is what I have lived on for the past 7 years. So we'll see if it can hold up.

BTW, I'm "picky" when it comes to bucks. If it's not a good one I'm not going to pull the trigger. Just letting you know.

I haven't thought of any names yet, but if I think of some I'll post.

You Picked Some Good Names BowJoe!!

I wonder why I couldn't find you in the UserList? I searched everyone else but your name wouldn't come up?

I think we have a good team on our hands, so lets have a Good Hunting Season!!

Laura

Re: Team 14

I was just throwing out some names I thought might inspire yall to come up with something better. I just changed my name back to BowJoe today and used OutbackJoe for a few days. Then I realized that nobody would know who the heck I am if I went by it so I changed it back to BowJoe. Sorry for the mix up Nite. I think we have an awsome team and I can't wait to see who post for us first. The good thing about Illinois is you can take as many does as you want. I love the meat too so that's a bonus. Good luck. Joe.

Re: Team 14

Who on here will be doing types of hunting like me and Tony who will be bowhunting? If everyone on our team will bowhunt then we may come up with something to do with bowhunting like Team Nock Point, Team String Flinger, Team Bow Diddly. I don't mean that everyone has to exclusively bowhunt but if we all bowhunt and some of us also rifle hunt or shotgun hunt or muzzleloader hunt then we could find our common bond and use that in the name. I don't know about yall but I'm excited no matter what we call ourselves.

Re: Team 14

Hello everyone!!!

My name is Stephen. I'm 28 yrs. old and currently live in Greenwood, Arkansas. I will hunt some private land at my parents house, as well as some AWESOME private land that I married into!grin.gif I will also hunt some of Arkansas' Ozark Nat. Forest and Wilderness area (not a high density of deer, but I like the big open woods...that's what I grew up hunting).

I love bowhunting...only been doing it for about 5 years. I killed a doe my first day on the stand with a bow (EVER)! Then hunted 3 more years before taking my first buck with a bow (8 pt. w/16.5" spread).

Bought a new Trykon this July, so I'm hoping to take at least 1 doe and hopefully a nice buck with it this year to break it in.

I'll start with bowhunting, then move to muzzleloader in the middle of Oct.....back to bowhunting for a few weeks...then 2 rifle seasons in Nov....then back to bowhunting for the remainder of the season!
