Re: Team 16

ok, lets here some info about yourselves smile.gif how much land you'll be hunting, what state?

i will be hunting about 45 minutes from here...in a town where there is alot of farm land..we were initially given permission to hunt 110 acres of land..only 10 of which if wooded, but the land owner failed to mention there were 3 other people who have been hunting the land for 10 years, but that land owner has anothr 22 acrs of woods that we are going to look at tomorrow, and there is 200+ acres of land behind my uncles house that we are possibly able to hunt....it has a corn filed...huge bean field...and about 100 acres of woods...i will also be trying my luck at some state land...that is about 45 minutes in the opposite direction of the other land....and will be making our annual trip for the gun opener in november to either the south west part of the upper penninsula (about 26 miles north of wisconsin) we have been going there for about 10 years and hunt 80 acres...or we might have 200 acres in Alpena, michigan..which i hope we get a chance to go to to alpena..not only for a change in scenery, but its half the distance and over twice as much land! smile.gif

oh yeah...we need a team name to grin.gif

Re: Team 16

Hey everyone - I hunt mostly here in VA and I am blessed enough to hunt one of the best places that I have ever seen. It's about 5200 acres of beans/corn/river bottoms/ridges/etc. I have hunted there for 2 whole seasons with me killing an 8 pointer the first year and then a 9 pointer last year - not counting a ton of slick heads. I am going to try to get out during bow season this year and stick a big boy. Any ideas about our name?

Re: Team 16

Hello team mates, Bill checking in.

I hunt mainly in a deer city deer management hunt inside the parks of my city. I'm mainly a meat hunter. This I was drawn for a buck tag in the parks though, that I am excited about. I had to watch about a 170+ buck walk by last year cause I didn't have the buck tag, so I hope he walks by this year!

I also been hunting 80 acres of creek bottom for 10 years and some public land around. Hope every one has a safe and successful season.

I'm easy on names. I few ideaers off the top of my head.

Re: Team 16

I have to rely on some of my hunting buddies for hunting property here in Virginia. My one buddy has 15 acres in Prince William County and about 50 acres up on the mountain in Frederick County (Strasburg). I may have a chance to hunt a couple of 200 acres farms out in Marshall as well but we'll see.

Haven't thought about names yet.

Re: Team 16

Well shoot HarvDog - you're not to far from me. If I get a permission slip and I am allowed to bring a guest on a hunt, I'll have three stand locations, so maybe we could get together for a hunt. There are restrictions such as the antlers have to be outside the ears and such, but if you want some meat for the freezer there are plenty of does! Right after black powder season, I am going to bring my son to try to get him a shot at a deer and then after that I'm open. I'll see what I can do, let me know what you think. We will have a good chance at getting our team so points, we'll get to meet each other, and hopefully drop some deer.

Re: Team 16

Guess it's time for me to check in. Our bow season starts on Saturday and I am ready to rock and roll.

I've lost quite a bit of my hunting grounds this past year and I just came to find out that one of my remaining hot spots got turned inside out by the building of a couple new massive gaswell's...and the roads leading to them. mad.gif

But, I'm ready to get after em either way you look at it. laugh.gif

Re: Team 16

Sorry I haven't checked in earlier. Been busy tightning the loose ends on my 110 acre place as well as finishing work on the 160 acre farm we lease. [ We being Born2Hunt and me].

Looking forward to a real good season. We have seen some good deer already. Tonight I had 4 deer under my crabapple tree in my backyard. 22 yards away would have been an easy shot with my Matthews FX. Can't do it! I'll get mine in a more sporting fashion.

Good. safe hunting to all.

Lynn

Re: Team 16

Hey everyone! woohoo I'm proud to be on a team with all of you; let's kick some butt! Well i'm in Ny and the land I hunt normally is a few hundred acreas of farmland - not sure how much the farmer owns exactly, but I can walk and be on it in about 10-15 minutes or we usually drive the car down the road and up one of the tractor paths, park and walk to a stand. Several fields of either corn or alfalfa. I may be hunting a new piece of land this season also. A neighbor has been using Andy's help on surverying/posting land he bought with a small cabin about an hour south of here. Between the 2 of them, they have seen 2 HUGE bucks, ones big and tall, the other wide and thick and one had a drop time. I think we may go over there opening weekend. Either way I plan on contributing to them team with my new Hoyt:)
