Weather was terrible, very hot and very windy. I'm hoping for some cooler temps next weekend.

WaCoyote
Re: Team 18 Man I'm jealous! I've still got to wait about two weeks. My 13 year old got her first last year and shes pumped! She's excited to get a bigger one than last year which was a button buck, LOL. I think she'll be able to handle that! My wife is gonna go too. I think she's jealous that her girl got one at 12 and she still hasn't scored. Man, I can't wait! You guys are killing me! Typically we'd pass on a button but this lil guy walked out 21 yds right in front of us. It was just too good to be true for a 12 year old! Plus she missed a long hurried shot at a big doe earlier that day so I thought she earned it. Man, did that thing eat good!!! [/url]

6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: Team 18 [ QUOTE ] great to have you back. Congrats, where did you go? What did you do? Forget the second question, where did you go? [/ QUOTE ] haha.... a little update....Last night was my first night in the stand since leaving the woods early monday wizzed off because of the heat...my buddy and i decided we would try some of the 1400 acres the good ol IDNR offers us here in Mackinaw...so we got out there with a front that just came through cooling things off to about the 70's so it was a major jump from the high 80 and low 90's we had before...i climped a huge tree free hand that was over looking a alfalfa field which bordered a standing bean field and to my right was a picked corn field...Behind me was my buddy overlooking a picked corn field and more soy beans...the wind was perfect and just at about prime time ( which was about 6:15ish) i saw somethign walking towards me... i grabbed the bincoluals and was surprised to see another hunt just getting into the woods...i was a little disapointed because i know he scared everything in the area so i just quietly climbed out of the tree got my buddy and went to another property...long storey short...got in those woods really late and got set up and saw a couple deer...but they were too far and never presented a shot... Tommorow ill go to school until 11:30 and im done so im driving up to my dads and im going to climb in the stand out there...Im feeling pretty confident with that...Wish me luck..Hopefully i can get some points on the board for us...Good Luck to all of you guys

WaCoyote
Re: Team 18 Ahhh. I Love main. When I was stationed back east in the 80's we had a field problem at a place called Deep Woods. Ever heard of it?? The black flies and mosquitos were so thick you couldn't even take a leak without getting bit! Had to wear a bug suit. It was horrible, but I do like maine!! 6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: Team 18 ok so i will be heading out in a few hours...just go out of school...its cooled off a lot so im feeling pretty confident in my set up...im hoping they have cut the corn field that borders my ground to the north that way some deer will be filtering into that and maybe they will cross over..im hoping...also i hope the wind dies down a little bit....good luck to all this weekend!
