WaCoyote
Re: Team 18 Good luck! I think some of our other teammates have lost interest. Haven't heard if they're even hunting. I PM'd all of them but got no response.

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Team 18 Well, you guys probably won't be happy with me, but I had this buck at 80 yards Monday morning and didn't shoot. I just couldn't talk myself into shooting a 3.5 year old deer with so much potential.

6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: Team 18 that is a dandy buck..but when your trying to grow big bucks...he will deffently be bigger next year! update from me... wednesday in my moms batheroom the toilet busted so i had to run into menards and get a new shut off valve and a new connector hose, so i got to stay home from school and fix that, my mom called me in at like 10:30 and i was done at about 11:30 so i asked my little brother if we wanted to go hunting with me and he said sure so we drove up to my dads place and crawled in the stand at about 2:30 i had to hang my stand first so i did that real quick. we were having wind gust up to about 50 miles and hour and it was a steady 25. we should have been out there but the wind was perfect to hunt and i wasnt about to drive an hour for nothing. plus the tree i was in is about 200 years old and has a diameter of about 10 feet so its pretty sturdy...any who...lol....by about 4 o clock i wasnt sure about things, i started doubtinmg even being out there but it was cold so i knew that deer had to be moving...at about 4:25 i remembered i needed to call my dad and let him know i was up there just in case something happened to me he would know where i was.. about 2 minutes after i hung up the phone i saw a nice doe walking out in front of my stand..i drew back on her and then i undrew and was like gatta range her...lol..then i drew back again and saw another deer coming in the corner of my eye..i undrew again, and saw that this doe was huge and deffently weighed about 50 pounds more...so i drew back oin her and undrew again and ranged her...lol. ( i knoew i drew back a lot but my stand is 35 feet they didnt seem me) anyways the range finder said 30 yards and she was perfect broadside licking something on her back so her head was facing the other way i drew back and put my 30 yard pin right on the vitals and let it fly... SMACK!!! the Axis slammed right into her and passed through..she took off running out into the field at a dead sprint...at about 50 yards she got real sick and at about 90 yards she flipped and took a dirt nap. What was weird was i was praying for the wind to calm down and it never did and right before i let my arrow fly the wind went dead.. I thanked the lord for helping me make a good clean harvest and im eating backstraps tommorow night! she weighed 165 pounds...biggest doe i have ever shot...ill get everything uploaded and post my pics soon.. i was so glad to have my little brother there with me to see this.. he got cold so at about 3:30 he climbed down out of the stand to sit on the ground next to the tree so it would block the cold wind.. he fell asleep and woke back up to two deer out in the field, he said about 20 seconds later he saw me slam that doe.. He was pretty excited and he is addicted to bow hunting now.. but things dont end there, i climbed down and when to get my deer. we got up to her and i told conor to be watching for any bucks coming to find her.. not 10 minutes later my big 9 point i named Joker came strolling in, he obviously saw us in the field but he was going to challenge us.. he was coming hard and fast and i had already taken off my release and my bow was about 4 feet away on the ground.. i hurried but slowly got my release on and knocked an arrow, by this time the monster buck was at 30 yards i drew back on him and conor ranged him at 32 yards, i got him to stop and i ketp trying to allign everything perfect so i wouldnt blow the shot, it was still legal shooting hours but it was too dark for me to make the shot...i decided to undraw and just let him walk.. Its alright though because i have seen him twice now the third time's the charm... Good Luck to everyone that goes out this weekend!

Guest nubs
Re: Team 18 Sorry I haven't been around lately, been real busy with work and kids. I working 12 days staight including all 7 last week, and now all this week. I got a sick 9 month old boy too. Anyway, when I have been able to sneak out for a quick morning hunt, it has been awful. I don't remember a year in the last 13 years like this. No sign and worse than that, no deer. I hunt public land and had a couple run ins with spot competion. I got a vacation coming the week up to X-mas(thank God), and hope to hit it hard then. IT will be our late gun season here in TN. This week is the 1st gun, and I am trying to balance out work, family, and hunting, and find some sleep time in their somewhere ( i spent 36 hours no sleep, and 20 hours of it was work, no wonder I am freakin out!). Congrats on everyone's deers, sorry bout no contribution so far. Good luck with the rest of the season.
Thayer
Re: Team 18 I was able to harvest a doe fawn last Sunday, but I did not take a camera....duh! I will be back at it this weekend and during our muzzleloading after that, along with bow season till Jan 15th...all is not lost. Great job guys...just not seeing the big boys...lots of 10pt 1 1/2's though, and one decent 10 2 1/2 yo..he needs another year on him. Good luck and be safe. brad dryden
Re: Team 18 Sorry guys I work 2nd shift at work so I can only hunt on weekends. Gun season was the worst ever this year. The neighbores had our property lined with hunters and shot everything that tried to come on our place. Also people trespasing on the other land by use shot at least one buck that we know of. With neighbors shooting the deer like this me and my brother have notive fewer bucks and alot less does. Opening day all I seen where 3 does and my brother seen two small buck one witch was killed and 3 does. But I still have muzzleloader season and late archery.
