Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Team 18 Hunted this past weekend. Saw 20 - 30 does and about 10 bucks. One decent 8 point, about 22 - 23 inches wide, but very short tines. Let him walk. Still have 3 weeks left, hoping for something worthy. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Team 18 I'm leaving in about an hour for a weekend hunt. Weather looks terrible, highs near 80 and strong south winds. But what the heck - I've got nothing better to do. Plus it's getting really dry again in West Texas and the deer are getting hungry. We still have some grazing in the 600 acres of wheat we planted, so there's at least a chance of seeing something decent. I'll let ya'll know how it went on Monday. Adios! 6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: Team 18 well i have been too active in the woods lately....we have had a load of snow dumped on us, i went out in it and it was up to my knees....kind of hard to hunt in that unless you have snow shoes...we went out and there was about a 2 year old doe that had been shot and limped right up to us....she stepped out at about 40 yards and i had my little brother there with and it was his first time actully hunting where he had a weapon on him...i saw the deer running our way before he did and told him to get down quickly that she was coming right for us...it took forever for the doe to get into the bedding area that we were hiding in ( we were going to try and spook soimething out that might have been laying there from the snow) so the doe came into the bedding area and was just about to lay down and she spotted us, my brother kept saying can i shoot her,, cna i shoot her and i kept telling him no...shes going to step out give her time...he just kept saying can i shoot her and i was getting irritated with him...he finaly piped down and sure enough the doe stepped out to get a better look at us and boom! roped her both of us liad the smack down on her. he was pretty excted... you guys have rememebred just about a month ago when i took him bow hunting with me and he got to see me whack a doe...he is officaly hooked now! well i have to work most of this weekend and i got finals to study for so not much hunting...im going to try and hunt sunday though...not sure we'll see how the weather is...good luck guys
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Team 18 Saw plenty of does this weekend and 4 or 5 small to medium sized bucks, but nothing big. Looks like cold weather and a good chance of snow coming up. Maybe something will happen then.
