sskybnd
Re: Team 22 well to day was one of the best days ive seen to hunt. this morning it was cloudy and started to have that low misty rain. i went to a ladder stand i have not far from the people that were close to our line, i sat there till about 8.30 and thought i would move to where i left my climber the night before, about 10'00 i had two does come in and thought they were at 40 yards, i let them walk into one of the logging roads and let it go i seen the arrow go under her but not by much i paced it off and she was 46 yards from me, i wouldnt have taken the shot but being in the open i thought i could make it i can shot confidently at 50 yards just a range misjugment. sskybnd
Re: Team 22 well team might have let you down again walgreen called and said they were'nt going to process my film said there was something sticky on it, they said it might have got wet, so i took it to walmart and told them to get what ever pics were on there off, the last 5 were of the deer so im hoping even if it did get wet somehow they get them off, if not i guess i can take a pick of the horns and when i go get the meat i can take a pic of the license, dont know if it will work but atleast you get a pic of the horns and license. c_lou
Re: 22 - Treetop Assassin\'s Well the Wisconsin gun season has come and went. I passed on several small deer. It looks like my archery doe is all I am going to be able to muster this year.
whitetailtrax
Re: 22 - Treetop Assassin\'s Seasons over for me here in Montana unless I take the bow out and that's unlikely. Passed on some good whitetails this weekend for lots of reasons and wasn't going to shoot one just to have a deer to enter - sorry guys. Just didn't see the monster I was looking for and my son shot his first deer on Wed., so we will have some good eating for the winter! Congrats to everyone on the team for your accomplishments this year!
Swamphunter
Re: Team 22 Sorry team but I can't upgrade my spike. Today was the last day for NY's northern zone rifle season. I still have a week of ML left, but it is doe only for me. All I ended up getting was the spikehorn. That is my smallest buck in about 10 years. Sorry, but due to the lack of time this year for me...I couldn't get a ton of hunting in.
sskybnd
Re: Team 22 hey swamphunter, man dont feel bad, you got to go hunting which is rewarding in its self, you did harvest the spikehorn buck that gave uas points for the team, and this is /was a team effort, you have venison for the winter, maybe next year you;l get that big boy. Swamphunter
Re: Team 22 I'm out guys....my last day to hunt was Thursday and I passed on a spike and a button buck. I already have a spike entered. Didn't fare as well this year as my last few years but am looking for ward to next year already.
Swamphunter
Re: Team 22 I am in favor of people who sign for this contest to have 1000 posts. To date: HEYMO - claims to have shot a doe on 11-18-06 and is still waiting to "get the pics up". Turkeystalker hasn't posted since the last of Oct 24th in this thread, and since Nov 26th in the forums at all. and MewelDeer??? Well he must have got cleaned out in the forum clean-up because he can't even be found in the user list, nor did he post 1 time in this contest entry for our team. Not even to check in.... Thanks to everyone else who did at least participate and post in the contest entry, whether or not you filled a tag, it is irrelevant. Its not about winning, but at least about being kind of like a team on here and checking in with each other from time to time. Hope to be on the same team with some of you again next year. [/ QUOTE ] I know it's a little frustrating when folks don't post often or even at all, but sometimes we all have personal reasons for this. Might be an illness, loss of computer or internet access, simply not enough time to get on the internet. Overall I thought this team did a decent job of staying in touch (some better than others). I didn't post much, but didn't hunt much either, so didn't have a lot to say. I appologize for not contributing to out point total this year. Just didn't find the right buck. Congrats to all that did fill their tags this year!!! I think MewelDeer may have changed his name to MD and in his defense, he did post a few times through the season. Not sure I like the 1000 post thing - sure eliminates a lot of good people. I would love to post more on this forum, but just don't have the time....but I am committed to the teams I sign up for. Merry Christmas to all Team 22 participants!
sskybnd
Re: Team 22 whitetailtrax, i think thats what were saying here some might not have that much time to do alot of posting, but atleast stop in a few times and tell us how your season going, and i dont think it's if you harvest a deer or not that matters some years are a bust but its the ones that sign up and never say anything, and if meweldeer did chande hie to md he could have said something about it in sted of not posting anything, i feel we had a good team this year and being my first year to do this, im sure i'l do it next year if they have it, i feel it realy builds comrodery amoung the group and as hunters. need2hunt
Re: Team 22 Well I'm sure this will be discussed after the contest as well as be rehashed before the next one starts. I will say this, in veiwing this problem I have found that post count has little to do with attendance. Setting a 1,000 post rule will do nothing other than torque alot of people off. MewelDeer did change his screenname to _MD_ and has been posting in your thread all along, if you guys didn't pick up on that, well let's just say I don't think it's his fault. Like I said we will rehash this a couple more times at a later date. What I will say now is that of 27 teams there were 19 teams that had everyone show up at some time. Out of 270 people that entered there are a total of 14 people that have not shown up in there respective team threads - that's equal to a hair over 5%. Of those 14 people that have not shown up 4 of them have NOT been active, 1 was active for about a month and then has NOT been active and lastly 9 of them are currently ACTIVE posting on the forums but for whatever reason has not posted in their team thread. So if I take that into consideration there are only 5 people that for whatever reason are true no shows or only approx 1%, well I say that sure ain't bad considering what we've seen in the past. The way people participate is up to them and not everyones idea on that is going to be the same. All in all this year I think has turned out pretty good, actually it's the best as far as comradory goes since we started this. Is it perfect, no, and with the variables that surround it I doubt if it will ever be. G

Wimpy
Re: Team 22 Hey guys I am finally back up and running after finally getting into my new house.I killed my biggest buck to date this season it was a 12 point but unfortunatly I didn't find it until 5 days later so all I was able to recover was the rack.(Talk about being sick!)So unfortunately I can't enter it inthe contest, sorry for that.On the up side though my 9 year old son killed his first deer a 5 point, talk about a proud papa.It was the most exciting hunt I have ever been on.I'll post the story later just wanted to check in and say Hey! since it has been a few months. _MD_
Re: Team 22 Hey folks it me...Post # 12 You all remind me of the kids movie "Home on the Range". Don't take this to heart, I'm not not trying to be offensive but here is the piece I'm talking about. Alameda Slim: Okay boys, let's go over this one more time. Who am I? Willie Brother #1: Uncle Slim? Alameda Slim: Correct! Now, I put on this hat, and then I put on these spectacles... Willie Brother #1: Ahh! Who are you? Willie Brother #2: What have you done with Uncle Slim? Alameda Slim: Arrgghh! It's still me! Can't you dumb sack of hammers get it right? LOL ... That part just cracks me up. Anyhow I did get a doe this year. Held out for the big boy but wasn't able to connect. The reason I haven't posted the doe is because I forgot to take a picture of my tag. The tag went with the doe to the processor. I just got her back today so I will take a picture of it and post the deer & tag when I have a chance.
