LLBUX
Re: Team 24 Passed up a couple of does tonight at 40 yards. Saw 20 deer between 3:45 and 5:15. Young bucks were dogging does. Saw 4 bucks and 2 does today at noon while showing some friends around my hunting area. Gonna be a crazy week for deer! Good luck all. wtnhunt
Re: Team 24 Getting really frustrated here. Saturday morning looked promising early on. Sat for 10 hours total and saw no deer Saturday afternoon. The yahoos behind and beside us rode in on 4 wheelers after legal shooting light, and they shot several times over the weekend. Was really pretty slow for me for our ml season this weekend. Passed up the same 4 pointer I have seen too many times to count, and had a 1.5 year old 7 pointer come in to within 20 yards of me and fed on acorns for about 15 minutes. Shot some video. Guest Broncho10
Re: 24 - Antler Addicts [ QUOTE ] Congratulations on the doe. Got our ml season opening here this weekend. Hey Trent, was just looking at the scoreboard and they have you down for 12 points. Not sure if Gary miskeyed your deer or somehow missed a point, but I thought 8+5=13. [/ QUOTE ] Looks like he got it fixed. Time is getting right guys, it's time to spend as much time as we can in the woods. You never know when that big boy will be wandering around looking for some lovin'. Good luck to everyone!!!
Snipe
Re: 24 - Antler Addicts Not a good weekend for me...That full moon gave them all night to feed...AM Hunt Saturday was a bust seen one Doe behind the stand. Afternoon hunt was no better.. Sunday AM was looking promising...Seen one Doe behind the blind and then a small 8pt. He didn't fit into the state Regs to shoot.... Then about 30 minutes late I seen a real nice 8pt. he was a shooter...around 16-17" inside spread... But where he was I would need to shoot left handed out of the blind...I seen a small spike before dark then a mature Doe came out hobbling...I glassed her and seen no arrow, gunshot injuries...Looks like she was clipped by a car or truck.. She was almost over the hill in my shooting lane ...She never gave me a clear shot.. I do hope to see her soon ...She need to be put down.. I will be out again this weekend... Looking for that Big Boy
QDMAworks4me
Re: 24 - Antler Addicts Will be out this weekend looking for a nice buck, there has not been a lot of activity due to the full moon but I am keeping my fingers crossed that the rut will kick in and get the big guys up and around during the day. Good luck to you guys this weekend
wtnhunt
Re: 24 - Antler Addicts Going to try and slip out with the ml the next two afternoons, but we are having really warm weather, looking at possible record highs today. Deer movement here has really dropped off. Will be back to archery here this weekend, hopefully it will cool back off. Really hoping this guy will come back around. NS whitetail
Re: 24 - Antler Addicts well guys, I just spend two more days at camp and no buck , I may get down again next week for a couple of days and that will be it for me. Our lobster fishery opens on Nov. 27 and deer hunting will be a past memory for me. I passed on some small bucks waiting for the big guy I got on cam but it never paid off hopefully next week I'll get a chance to score
Snipe
Re: 24 - Antler Addicts Ok guys ..It has not been a good season at all....The county I hunt in has adopted antler restrictions...That's not the problem...I just haven't seen any deer... I have hunted every weekend since the gun opener and I bet I have not heard more than 5 shots in 3 weeks... I feel its from the drought we have had the last 2 years...The deer have moved on for water and food.. looks like it will be a bit warmer this holiday weekend.,.But that's OK..My oldest son in the Air Force flew into town to surprise me for Thanksgiving... He will be going to Afghanistan in February...And he and I will hunt this next weekend with his younger brother ...I feel better about getting a score....Even if I don't I did get to see him before he gone for a year

wtnhunt
Re: Team 24 Well, misjudged one at a tad over 200 yards yesterday morning. I knew a buck was coming, the does kept looking back. He was hot on 3 does when he stepped out and I had my rifle ready where the does were coming out from in the sorghum. I saw antlers, when he turned I thought he was better than he really was, never looked through the binos, I saw antlers with my eyes at that distance, put the crosshairs behind the shoulder with the scope on a lower power. Squeezed off what was probably the longest shot I have taken on any deer. He went 20 yards and piled up. Then another buck smaller came out right after he went down and went over to the dead deer and jumped around and acted kind of weird. He is a 6 point, maybe 7 I guess, got one coming from the base that by my measurement is 1 1/16 of an inch.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm sorry to inform everyone on Team 24 that indianahunter1 has been disqualified from the contest. I am checking with my last alternate to see if they still want to participate. If he does I will place him on your team, if not you will have to go one person short. Here is the reason why indianahunter1 is being disqualified. I received a pm from him with a picture of his deer that he claims was taken on 11/06. I saw that it was a picture on the RT Picture Post and went into his gallery to see if he had a better picture of im with his deer. The picture he sent me was labeled as "Img09FD1.jpg", the date that he posted it in his gallery is circled in red in the below screen capture, it reads August 12, 2006. There is anothe identical picture titled "my buck I took in indiana !" that was posted in his gallery on Nov 22, 2006 with a caption of "i shot this buck on a farm in indiana at 9:00 am 11/21/06" Even though he has not officially entered this deer in the contest, it is clear to me that he is attempting to be fraudulant. Not only will he be dropped from this years contest he will not be allowed to participate in any further deer hunting contests. I will also inform the other mods that are in charge of all the other various contests and let them decide if they will let him participate in any of the other RT contests. Sorry about this but there is nothing else I can do about it, I will let you know about the alternate once I hear back from them. LLBUX
Re: Team 24 A little good news- 5 more points for Antler Addicts! I slew a fat doe this afternoon. Too dark for pix tonight when I retrieved her so I'll take pix in the morning. Had my eye on a 9 pointer but he didn't come in. I'll try and upgrade on Sunday or next weekend. Hey Slughunter-due to the nonsense of Indiana Hunter, better get your buck pix in soon. Good luck all-
