Rosy's debut (photos)

Rosy had been trash-barkin all week, but on Saturday she backed it up. Lots of solid points, and she did a great job locating downed (but definitely not out) birds.

I defy you to try to tell me she wasn't having fun:

That's correct - those are feathers in her mouth. She had just finished finding the bird, and she doesn't seem to mind a mouthful of feathers at all.

In hindsight, I probably should have given her a drink of water before taking the photos - her tongue was getting a little long. She won't stop to take drinks when she's hunting unless I force her to, so I have to watch the length of her tongue to know when she's getting thirsty.

I'll be sure to give you a holler if I'm ever down that way. I'm finding just the opposite around here, lots of sharpies, not a lot of Huns - might have to do with the wet spring.

I seem to be especially adept at finding sharptails when I'm trying to do a final stalk when bowhunting mule deer.
