we have about 6 acres of land that our house sits on...well behind us...about 3 houses down, there are some kids that ride 4 wheelers and stuff in there yard...and 2 houses down to the west of us, a kid about 16 or 17 maybe....had been riding his dirt bike through our yard to get over and ride with the other kids on the little track they have...he bike leaves big tracks through the yard...and even the first one that i seen is still there from over a month ago...a few weeks ago we seen him ride through our yard...to a small field to the east of us and we went over and asked him that if he must use our yard as a short cut, then to at least stay around the edges so he doesn't tear up the middle of the yard.....well i go out to mow today...and we another rut that he left from the back yard up to the front to that little field to the east...i was pretty ticked just seeing that...then...as i was spraying the grass off of the mower...he rode right past me straight down the center of our yard, from the back of the yard, right up the the main road and down to his house...there is no doubt in my mind that he did this on purpose and knew i was there. what shoudl i do?? things like this really irritate me. i think we are going to have to take a walk down to his house and have a little talk with him of one of his parents....if that doesn't work...i dunno. confused.gif

I would go and talk to the parents ... if that doesnt work ... .there is always the law and then you can tell him in front of the cop to never ever set foot (or bike) on your property and if he does he will charged with tresspassing ... hopefully that would be a last resort ... unhappy neighbors are no fun ...

like you said talk to his folks, if that doesn't work put out a trail cam thats dated and show a copy to his folks and if it happens again show them to the police. it is destruction of private property!!!! some people are so disrespectful!

Talk to the parents.................then if that doesn't work.........make a spike strip out of a couple of boards and some nails. Then disguise it with your grass clippings. wink.gifgrin.gif

Talk to the parents. If that doesn't work then talk to the local police. Have a video camera ready for if and when he does it again and get it on tape. Show it to the police. Tell the folks that you want damages paid for the cost of having a landscaping crew come out and replace the grass he has torn up. They will soon get the idea. Parents that don't teach their kids will learn a lesson too.

Re: what should we do?? (kind of long...need to vent)

I had a kid causing all kinds of problems by me, and I called him out on it. He had 2 friends with him, and they told me they could do what they want, and there wasn't a thing I could do about it.

I told all 3 of them to come on over and prove how bad they were. By that time, I was yelling at them, heckling them, and begging them to come over in the yard again so I could embarrass them. They started over, and I ran over towards them. They just plain figured I was crazy, and the problems came to an end shortly afterwards. Sometimes a slight confrontation to show who rules the roost works out.

Basically, I told them I would pay the fines just to kick thier butts. 2 were 17, and 1 was 18.

I would just let the parents of the biker know that the privelege of using your yard to travel through has been revoked permanently because the rules were not followed.

If he trespasses afterwards...call the police.

That's what I'd do too. I'd also let the parents know if he ever trepasses again you will call the police. wink.gif
