Great PA public land buck

I talked to a guy this morning that showed me the skull of a buck he shot opening day. It has to score 150 – 170 and he says it came off of SGL 235 in Franklin County. This is the second big buck he’s taken from the same proximity in Bear Valley. This buck was a beautiful 8 point typical rack with incredible mass - one of those you see in your dreams. It’s the leading entry in Keystone Country Store’s big buck contest.

Why would he not get that deer mounted?? Makes you wonder if he really killed it, or if he really killed it legally........

or maybe he dosnt have the money or such. Last year i killed a buck just shy of 140. This year i killed a nice 8 with my bow, my first bow buck of any size neither of these deer are mounted, does that mean i didnt shoot them legally???

just because some of us dont scratch and fight to put a large calcium growth on our wall dons t mean it wast taken legally. Both of my racks still have there tags wrapped around them so there is proof enough. but you get my point bud grin.gif

honestly i think a european mount looks just as good as a neck/or shoulder mount. cool.gif

Re: Great PA public land buck

Hmmm Bear Valley area. Anyone who knows the area, knows thats just over the hill from Letterkeney. I would bet money that this deer either escaped the fence from the depot or came out of zone 2. I saw a big 8 this summer off of bear valley that looked like it had the LEAD genes. Makes ya wonder
