The fights were great tonight too, wish I would have got tickets for that one! Very high scores tonight in the NHL... sheesh, just looking at the scoreboard here. I see lots of 5s, 6s, and 7s! TreeStandBowHunter
Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" The Bruins better stop lolly gagging or they won't have a chance. MUDRUNNER
Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" Well, the Blues traded Keith Tkachuck to Atlanta for Glen Metropolit and some draft picks.I've never really heard much about the Metropolit guy,and the Blues generally draft crappy so it seems like a pretty weak move, but they're cutting pay roll,so the rest of the season should be pretty pitifull. They lost to the Blackhawks yesterday 5-1,just a sign of things to come. Look at the team they played with, about a 1/3 of the lineup was called up from the Rochester Americans.
VermontHunter
Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" Thrashers @ Bruins, 7 p.m. This should be yet another good game.... The B's need to pick things up and stay consistant,,, if they want a shot at the playoffs.. Here we go again....

They went and lost to Atlanta 3-2 in a nice paced game,,, but penalties got the best of them as usual ...
MUDRUNNER
Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" Just read the Blues sent Bill Guerrin to San Jose, definately a good move on the Sharks part.Well, I guess the Blues season is pretty much over since they traded their two best goal scorers. MUDRUNNER
Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" Yea,just read that.Wideman never really was that great, and was even benched a few games so it looks like they did alright by getting a guy from Boston that can get a few points. It's aggrivating because they're dumping their best players for draft picks, and the Blues are horrible at drafting. They took Erik Johnson first overall last year, and he might be playing college hockey for another year now.If they would've taken Jordan Staal they would have been set with a guy ready for the NHL and someone to score a few goals. All I hear is the Blues are building for the future, but I'm ready for them to start winning now....and so is the city.If it takes them 4 or 5 more years to make it to the playoff, they may be in real trouble. They are having a really hard time drawing crowds, and with rest of the season looking bad they'll have a hard time making any kind of money this year. VermontHunter
Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" Ward, Wideman to Boston Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli just finished his press conference: "The Boston Bruins would like to make two announcements. One is that we've traded Paul Mara to the New York Rangers for Aaron Ward. Second, is that we've traded Brad Boyes to the St. Louis Blues, for defenseman Dennis Wideman." I'm not sure what to make of these trades ... I do know that Brad Boyes is one heck of a player and he will be missed in Boston.... Those famous words once spoken by a great leader.... NUTS !! MUDRUNNER
Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" The Blues stole one from the Islanders last night. With the additions the Islanders made I expected a blow out,but the Blues scored 2 goals in the last 2 1/2 minutes of the third to tie it,and put it away on the first shot in o.t.Di piatro had a melt down the last few minutes. The Blues beat the Canucks earlier in the week too, which was a bit of a shocker too. I think our Stanley cup champion will be from the western conference this year. MUDRUNNER
Re: \"Treestandbowhunter offical 2006/7 NHL thread\" I've been wrong before....I'll never forget that time last July. Buffalo definately has the best chance in the east, but the west seems to have the stronger of the teams. Then again a team like Tampa bay always does good in the playoffs.
